Duncan Fletcher
Appointed coach in June 1999, Fletcher has played an integral role in England's revival. He has overseen four successive series victories, culminating in this winter's dramatic successes in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The 52-year-old was born in what was then Rhodesia - now Zimbabwe - and Acting captained his country in the 1983 World Cup. His first major coaching role was with Western Province in South Africa in 1993. In 1997 he was appointed coach of Glamorgan and steered them to the County Championship in his first season.

He became the first foreign coach of England when he was selected to take over from David Lloyd.
