Lewis v Tyson

Lewis (right) lands a knockout punch on Mike Weaver 1986 Tyson weighs in for the Razor Ruddock fight

By Sanjeev Shetty, BBC Sport Online

 AUDIO CHOICE
Lewis takes British title
Awaiting a chance to regain his heavyweight crown from new champion Evander Holyfield, Tyson meets Canadian puncher Donovan ‘Razor’ Ruddock.

The pair fight twice, with Tyson winning the first by seventh round stoppage and the second on points. But the former champion looks a shadow of his former self.

A fight with Holyfield is scheduled for November, but when that is cancelled due to a Tyson injury, attention turns to a rape charge against the former champion. The alleged victim, beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington, intends taking the matter to court.

Lewis produces the best performance of his career so far to stop Mason in seven rounds and add the British title to his European crown. In his most effective year to date, he stops former champion Mike Weaver, Glenn McCrory and Tyrell Biggs.

Did you know?
Tyrell Biggs and Evander Holyfield, common opponents of Tyson and Lewis, both won medals on the American Olympic team of 1984.
