Mickey Moran new manager of Slaughtneil club side

Former Derry and Donegal boss Mickey Moran has been appointed manager of club side Slaughtneil.

Moran has also had spells in charge of county sides Sligo, Mayo and most recently Leitrim.

His backroom team at the Derry club will be JJ Kearney, Pat Cassidy, Paddy Flynn.

Meanwhile, Tyrone's Connor McAliskey has targeted the 15 January McKenna Cup clash with Armagh for his comeback from injury.

The highly-rated forward is recovering from a shoulder injury sustained while playing for Clonoe in an Ulster club game against Ballinderry in October.

McAliskey, 23, is expected to sit out Tyrone's opening cup game against Donegal at Ballybofey on 5 January.
