Sutil always insisted his conviction of grievous bodily harm would not bar him from making a comeback to F1 and so it has proved.
Force India have taken the 'safe' option. They know what they are getting with Sutil after he drove for the team in its various guises from 2007 to 2011.
And that is a solid F1 driver, nothing spectacular, who will score points and has a strong ability in the wet. A rival for the very best, though, he is not.
