Driver profile: Paul di Resta
Paul di Resta's 2012 finished on a low - in the wall in Brazil during a race in which his team-mate Nico Hulkenberg had played a starring role.
That was something of a shame, for overall Di Resta's second season in F1 was a strong one.
Di Resta's stats and facts
- Team: Force India
- Born: 16/04/1986, Livingston
- Nationality: Scottish
- Grand Prix debut: Australia 2011
The Scot, who drives with a silky smooth precision, had the edge on Hulkenberg for the first half of the season.
Perhaps it was no surprise, then, that he seemed unable to quite compute what was going on when the German came on song late on.
This period coincided with Di Resta realising that he had been overlooked by the top teams - after having hopes of a drive at any of McLaren, Ferrari or Mercedes.
Whether his dip in form was related or not is unknown, but a winter coming to terms with reality should see him back on form in 2013.
