Professor Sid Watkins talks F1 2012 with David Coulthard
BBC F1 pundit David Coulthard catches up with safety and medical pioneer Professor Sid Watkins, who has died aged 84, during this summer's British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Watkins was at the forefront of Formula 1 safety for more than 30 years, and as trackside doctor he played a major role in saving the lives of several grand prix drivers after heavy crashes.
In their brief chat Watkins reminisces about the time he punched Coulthard in the stomach to make sure he was fine to race after having his appendix removed.
