Dan Gosling: Bournemouth move for footballing reasons

New Bournemouth signing Dan Gosling says his decision to move to Dean Court was purely for footballing reasons.

The 24-year-old joined Everton from Plymouth for £2m in January 2008 before moving to Newcastle in July 2010.

He made just 24 appearances for the Magpies and spent last season on loan at Championship side Blackpool.

"It was all about finding a place for football reasons, financially it didn't really matter too much," Gosling told BBC Radio Solent.

"I see this as a big opportunity to play regular football and that was one of the main factors in coming here.

"Obviously, I know my place isn't set in stone but I want to work hard and hopefully I can get the games that I want.

"I think Bournemouth is a team that's going somewhere. The facilities here are fantastic.

"I couldn't believe it when I turned up how good it was. They are laying the foundations for a bigger and better place and hopefully this season we can achieve those goals."
