Bristol City: Mark Little and Wade Elliott agree deals

Peterborough right-back Mark Little and ex-Birmingham midfielder Wade Elliott have signed for Bristol City on permanent deals.

Little, 25, was offered a new contract by Posh but opted instead to join their League One rivals on a three-year deal.

Elliott, 35, was released by the Blues this summer and has returned to Ashton Gate on a one-year deal following his successful loan spell last season.

He scored three goals in 19 games for City between January and May.

Elliott previously played for Burnley and Bournemouth, and signed for Birmingham three years ago.

"You always need a couple of Wade Elliotts in your dressing room," City manager Steve Cotterill told BBC Radio Bristol.

"He fitted in so well last year. He's just first-class around the place.

"There's still a good few years left in him and you can't have a team of 20-year-olds - they need some role models."

Little started his career with Wolves and had loan spells with Northampton and Chesterfield before joining Peterborough in 2010.

He made 176 appearances for Posh, scoring four goals.

"He's a major threat and a handful down that right-hand side," added Cotterill.

"He's won promotion from this league and won at Wembley. He's a focused, determined young man with a focused character. It was a no-brainer after I'd met him."
