Harry Davis: Crewe Alexandra central defender to miss run-in

Crewe Alexandra centre-half Harry Davis will miss the relegation-threatened League One side's run-in after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

The 22-year-old son of Alex boss Steve Davis suffered a dislocated kneecap in a collision in training last week.

Although not as bad as first feared, he needed a small operation to tighten some slight ligament damage in his knee, and that has proved a success.

Davis made his debut under previous Crewe boss Dario Gradi in May 2010.

He has since gone on make 135 appearances and score 10 goals for the Alex.

Having already missed two matches, Davis will also be sidelined for the final seven games.

Beaten 3-1 at home by Notts County on Tuesday night, Crewe are just a point clear of the relegation places, having won just once in seven matches.
