Allan McGregor: Hull keeper suffers kidney damage at West Ham

Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor will spend a night in hospital to get treatment for kidney damage suffered in the 2-1 defeat to West Ham.

The 32-year-old was injured colliding with Mohamed Diame to give away a penalty and earn a red card.

"McGregor is in a bad way," said Hull boss Steve Bruce.

"A specialist is on his way to see him, it is a contusion on his kidney. We're hoping it's not ruptured. He's gone to hospital and will stay overnight."

Goalkeeper Steve Harper came off the bench at Upton Park and is likely to fill in for the league matches away to Stoke and at home to Swansea, with McGregor suspended in the wake of his second red card of the season.

Harper is the only other senior goalkeeper at the club, with Swiss team-mate Eldin Jakupovic on loan at Leyton Orient.
