Guernsey FC need wins to stay in play-off chase - Tony Vance

Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance says his side need six points from the next two games to stay in the play-off race.

The Green Lions are in third place in the table, but all the sides around them have games in hand after a string of recent postponements.

Vance's side face Hastings United and Leatherhead in their next two games.

"We've got a very tough 10-day period where it's time for us to start staking a claim for these play-off spots," he told BBC Radio Guernsey.

"We have to do that by getting six points in the next two games. We've got to keep winning, simple as that, to stay in the play-off mix.

"Ultimately we're in third, Hastings are fifth but they've got four games in hand on us and they can quite easily go ahead of us, so we need the victory.

"We've played them twice already and got two wins so I imagine they'll be trying to put something right and we've got to go to them - it's going to be difficult for us.

Guernsey's current situation is a role reversal from the end of last season, when they faced an unbelievably crowded fixture list - including seven games in 10 days - after earlier postponements.

"We were used to it last year - now it's turned around and for us it's about trying to get points in the bag," said Vance.
