  1. 22:01:

That's a wrap for the night then, Arsenal coast into round five of the FA Cup. Who will join them in the draw?

Find out tomorrow. See you there!

  2. 22:00:

The TV cameras did their best to dig out a line from Arsene on his reported interest in Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler, but the wily old boss just smiled and said there was no news on any transfers. Watch this space.

  3. 22:00:
    MANAGER REACTION- Arsenal 4-0 Coventry
    Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "In the first half we did the job and took the game to them in a serious way and played the way we know we can. In the second half we dropped off and, give them credit, they gave it a go. Coventry should be pleased with their performance and we should be pleased with the result."

On potential transfers: "At the moment some other clubs make the headlines, but we don't."

On a new deal for Wenger: "My commitment has never been a problem for the club. I believe I have been here long enough to show how committed I am to this club."

  4. 21:55:
    Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

BBC Sport's Owen Phillips at the City Ground: "Preston have fully justified their draw at the City Ground here and could easily have snatched the win late on, with home keeper Karl Darlow forced into three decent late stops.

"An improved second half but pretty tame stuff in truth. North End will be delighted. The irascible Billy Davies less so."

  5. 21:54:
    FULL-TIME- Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

A replay for Billy Davies at Deepdale then. He'll look forward to that...

  6. 21:53:
    MANAGER REACTION- Arsenal 4-0 Coventry
    Steven Pressley

Coventry manager Steven Pressley: "We had lots of chances in the second half. Some of our football was devastating. We were brave in possession and if we had scored one of those chances the game would be interesting.

"But credit to Arsenal. They are a wonderful, wonderful team and if you don't get close to them they hurt you. It was 4-0 but when you consider the differences in resources we should take so much confidence from that performance."

  7. 21:52:
    FULL-TIME- Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston
  8. 21:48:

Is £37m 'cheap' for Juan Mata?

A fine player, mind. If you'd asked 100 people in the summer whether Mata would be playing for United by the end of January how many would have said yes...?

    Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Rob Dawson: Mourinho and CFC have been shortsighted fools to let Mata go. So cheap as well

  10. 21:45:
FINAL FIVE- Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

Into the last five minutes at our 20:00 GMT kick-off at the City Ground, where it is heading for a replay...

  11. 21:42:

Brentford beat Gillingham 2-1 to go to the top of the League One table, Marcello Trotta scoring the decisive goal.

  12. 21:42:
    PLAYER REACTION- Arsenal 4-0 Coventry

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski: "It was an important match for us, the FA Cup is important trophy for the club and in England. The second half we did not play so well and we needed to keep going and create chances for 90 minutes.

"If they had scored at 2-0 we would have been in trouble. But we are in round five and top of the league, it is a long season but we want to stay there and fight for trophies."

  13. 21:39:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 4-0 Coventry

"A lot of credit to Coventry to take back with them in terms of their second-half performance."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  14. 21:38:
    Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

BBC Sport's Owen Phillips at the City Ground: "Plenty of trickery on offer now for Forest with Djamal Abdoun having joined Jamie Paterson and Andy Reid on the pitch. But despite several teasing crosses, there is still no end product prompting manager Billy Davies to throw his arms around in frustration. The 2,000-plus North End fans are making plenty of noise and substitute Lee Holmes just had a stinging saved by Karl Darlow."

  15. 21:37:
    Arsenal 4-0 Coventry

Steven Pressley leads his players out to applaud the travelling fans. Coventry were undone by quality but they had their chances and give it a fair go. Well played all round.

  16. 21:37:
    FULL-TIME- Arsenal 4-0 Coventry
  17. 21:36:
HITS THE WOODWORK- Arsenal 4-0 Coventry

Mesut Ozil should have a fifth but he hits the post from 10 yards out! Coventry look dead on their feet.

  18. 21:34:
    Arsenal 4-0 Coventry

Leon Clarke has the chance for a consolation but side-foots the ball tamely at Lukasz Fabianski. His Premier League move is off.

    Text us on 81111

Chris: That last picture of Bendtner [see 21:17] would have made an unwinnable spot the ball competition.

  20. 21:33:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 4-0 Coventry

"Arsenal flicking the ball around comfortably. It was a good shot by Jenkinson, which was parried, and then by Cazorla to shoot into the ground and it bounced up into the net."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  21. 21:32:
GOAL- Arsenal 4-0 Coventry - Santi Cazorla (89 mins)

A wonderful move as Santi Cazorla sprays a pass out wide, Carl Jenkinson lashes in a rising shot which Joe Murphy can only parry away, allowing Cazorla to follow it in and smash home from seven yards.

  22. 21:31:
    FINAL FIVE- Arsenal 3-0 Coventry

Into the last few minutes now then, and a canter for Arsenal in the rain. Coventry have given a good account of themselves though.

  23. 21:29:

Leeds Utd chairman Salah Nooruddin has confirmed that the club has rejected a bid from West Ham for top scorer Ross McCormack.

Nooruddin said: "I'd like to reassure all Leeds fans that we're working hard for the club and can confirm we've rejected an offer from West Ham for Ross."

Utd will not confirm the details of the bid which is reported to have been around £3.5m.

  24. 21:28:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 3-0 Coventry

"It was tired legs, Danny Seabourne couldn't move his legs quick enough and Olivier Giroud fired home. It was good work from Kieran Gibbs."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  25. 21:26:
GOAL- Arsenal 3-0 Coventry - Olivier Giroud (84 mins)

Ah, that's why Olivier Giroud came on! The Frenchman gets in on the German goal party, smashing in a low finish with his first touch past the keeper from Kieran Gibbs' cutback.

  26. 21:22:
    SUBSTITUTION- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

I'm not sure I understand the logic of this substitution. Olivier Giroud - Arsenal's first-choice frontline striker - comes on for the last 12 minuets in place of Lukas Podolski. Give the big man a day off...

  27. 21:21:
BUNDESLIGA LATEST- Borussia Monchengladbach 0-2 Bayern Munich

Normal service has been resumed as the Bundesliga returns. Another win for Bayern Munich.

    Nicklas Bendtner

Paul: Breaking news. Bendtner took a swing at a water bottle on the way off but completed his hat trick of air shots instead by missing it.

  29. 21:17:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Cyrus Christie gallops away clear down the Coventry right but his cross is poor and Laurent Koscielny easily clears. We are into the last 15 minutes and the tempo has gone out of the game.

  30. 21:15:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

No pressure then Gedion! If he's a 10th as good as Xavi or Andres Iniesta Arsenal will have a hell of a player on their hands.

  31. 21:15:
    Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

BBC Sport's Owen Phillips at the City Ground: "Still not much happening with regard to goalmouth action at the City Ground but there's a greater sense of urgency from the home side. Andy Reid is becoming more influential and Jamie Paterson continues to look the most likely source of a home goal. Preston are threatening on the break though and Joe Garner has fired a good effort just over the bar."

  32. 21:15:
Ex-Arsenal and Coventry striker John Hartson, BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 2-0 Coventry

"This may turn out to be a great moment. Zelalem can apparently dribble like Iniesta and pass like Xavi."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  33. 21:15:
    SUBSTITUTION- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Gedion Zelalem, 17 on Sunday, is another German on for Arsenal. He arrived a year ago from Hertha Berlin and replaces Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Incredibly, he was born after Arsene Wenger took charge. He doesn't even know who Bruce Rioch is...

Santi Cazorla also replaces the hapless Nicklas Bendtner...

  34. 21:12:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

We are approaching the 70-minute mark, with still no sign of any replacements from Arsenal. Another air shot from Nicklas Bendtner...

  35. 21:08:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Mesut Ozil's weaving run is halted by a Coventry fan who runs onto the pitch and evades the stewards for a long, long time. He is eventually shepherded back off the field much to the glee of the away fans.

The League One side have played very well since half-time and arguably had the two best chances.

  36. 21:07:

Where will Juan Mata play for Manchester United then? On the right? Left? In the hole?

A nice problem for David Moyes to have.

  37. 21:06:

The transfer for Juan Mata from Chelsea to Manchester United moves a step closer as United confirm a deal has been reached.

"Manchester United has reached agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of Juan Mata for a club-record fee. The deal for Mata is subject to a medical and the agreement of personal terms. A further announcement will be made in due course."

  38. 21:06:
    KICK-OFF- Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

Back under way at the City Ground.

  39. 21:05:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Jack Wilshere plays in Lukas Podolski, who decides to pass the ball back to Wilshere instead of lashing in his hat-trick! Shoot man...

  40. 21:02:
    CLOSE!- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Arsenal's sloppy start to the half comes to an end as they pick Coventry open with a wonderful move. Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil are involved down the left, the ball is cut back to Nicklas Bendtner, who drags it back away from one man but then, off balance, screws a shot wide from eight yards.

The Coventry fans have another minute's applause/protest in the 61st minute, in tribute to the 1961 season under Jimmy Hill.

  41. 21:02:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 2-0 Coventry

"It was Moussa who had done well to win the ball. Credit to Clarke, his shot which hit the left-hand post from 18 yards had beaten the keeper.

"I wouldn't be surprised to see Arsene Wenger bring on some young players with a point to prove."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  42. 20:59:
HITS THE WOODWORK- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Big chance! Franck Moussa nicks the ball off Jack Wilshere, weaves into the box before teeing up Leon Clarke, who slams a left-footer against the base of the post from 18 yards! Fine technique from Clarke, he just passed the ball against the post. No backlift, and so nearly a goal. Coventry are having a fine half so far.

  43. 20:57:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Arsenal are yet to really get going in the second half, they are going through the motions to some degree. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain then bursts into the area but goes down very easily under a challenge from Cyrus Christie and referee Robert Madley waves him to his feet.

  44. 20:55:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Problems here for Coventry, as top scorer Leon Clarke goes down clutching his knee. He's had some lengthy treatment but is eventually back on in the middle.

  45. 20:55:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 2-0 Coventry

"It was a fantastic pass by Carl Baker. Credit to Leon Clarke, it was a fantastically timed run but he did not have the pace to get away from Laurent Koscielny and Lukasz Fabianksi was able to save his shot."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  46. 20:52:
    CLOSE!- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Coventry's best moment! Carl Baker slides a fine pass down the side of the Arsenal defence to send top-scorer Leon Clarke in on goal, he gets it out from under his feet and motors into the box, but form a wide angle his shot is easy for Lukasz Fabianksi, who blocks it away. Promising start for Coventry though.

  47. 20:50:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

The good news Adam is we are back up to full illumination at the Emirates. Stan Kroenke has had a rustle in his pockets for some change.

    Text us on 81111

Adam in Bidford: No light meters? No protracted discussions? At least one sport can deal with a bit of bad light!

  49. 20:48:
    Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

BBC Sport's Owen Phillips at the City Ground: "Soporific stuff at the City Ground. It's dull and miserable here. And the weather is pretty depressing too. Preston will be happy enough of course and they have looked pretty comfortable throughout. Neither side has forced a difficult save. A general feeling of apathy greets the half-time whistle. Surely it has to improve?"

  50. 20:48:
    KICK-OFF- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

And Arsenal get us back up and running at the Emirates.

  51. 20:47:
    HALF-TIME- Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

Goalless at the break then at the City Ground. Get Owen Phillips his sleeping bag.

  52. 20:41:
BUNDESLIGA LATEST- Borussia Monchengladbach 0-2 Bayern Munich

The Germans have been dominant at the Emirates and another German international Thomas Muller drills home from the spot to put Bayern in total control.

  53. 20:41:
    CLOSE!- Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

BBC Sport's Owen Phillips at the City Ground: "A moment of rare, rare quality nearly ends in a Forest goal. A smart move on the right results in Gonzalo Jara getting clear but Jamie Mackie shoots narrowly off target after collecting his pull-back. Good job something happened. Forget the Bovril or other beef extract-based drink, a sleeping bag might be in order at half-time."

    Lukas Podolski

Liam Goddard: No wonder Arsenal can't afford anyone in January, they can't even afford to keep their floodlights running!

  55. 20:35:

In tonight's League One game, Brentford lead Gillingham 1-0 and are heading to the top of the table as it stands.

  56. 20:34:
Ex-Arsenal and Coventry striker John Hartson, BBC Radio 5 liveHALF-TIME- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

"Arsenal have been terrific, they've made it difficult for Coventry. You can see the gulf in class. Coventry haven't offered a lot. The only worry for Arsene Wenger will be that knock for Jack Wilshere. I'd imagine he'll come off at half-time."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  57. 20:33:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Coventry's best hope may be that the rest of the lights go out, or the constant rain keeps falling and forces an abandonment. They've worked very hard but the German contingent for the hosts have been terrific.

  58. 20:32:
    HALF-TIME- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry
  59. 20:29:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

It's like a Coldplay gig now, with thousands of supporters turning the lights on their phones and holding them up. Events off the field are more interesting than on it to be honest.

  60. 20:29:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 2-0 Coventry

"It's not quite as bright as it was before the bulbs went but it's still playable."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  61. 20:28:
    POWER OUT- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Half of the floodlights have gone out at the Emirates! Arsenal's facilities are so good that there is still plenty of light but the referee does check with both captains. Carl Baker, to his credit, says that he is happy to play on. The Cov skipper could have said it was too dark there...

  62. 20:29:
    Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

BBC Sport's Owen Phillips at the City Ground: "Jamie Paterson has been screaming for a penalty after a jinking run. The Forest winger beat three men and tumbled in the box, but referee Mike Dean was having none of it. Preston's packed away end are enjoying this. After a slow start, they are more than holding their own."

  63. 20:26:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Moments after being booked Jack Wilshere is down in pain after a 50/50 tackle with Coventry right-back Cyrus Christie. A strange one that, no foul from Christie but the force of the tackle rocked his ankle.

  64. 20:23:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Hat-trick? No! Lukas Podolski fires over the top after more enterprising work down the right from Carl Jenkinson. Jack Wilshere then goes into the book for a late lunge in the centre circle, a needless tackle that.

    Text us on 81111

Paul: Arsenal fan but Coventry are battling away here despite the score. Good luck to them I hope they get their proper home back soon. They belong in Coventry.

  66. 20:22:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 2-0 Coventry

"Coventry's players will learn something from this game, about how sharp you have to be. They can take that back to their league games."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  67. 20:20:
    CLOSE!- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Almost a third German goal for the Gunners as Kieran Gibbs' cross from the left is smashed over the top by Serge Gnabry. Carl Jenkinson rather got in his way to be honest, there was an orderly queue forming to put that one in.

    Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Alex Briggs: Arsenal score from a corner! I'll never forget where I was.

Ryan Mould: Podolski on fire - why can he not play like this in the league!

  69. 20:19:
    Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

BBC Sport's Owen Phillips at the City Ground: "The visitors are beginning to settle now in the teeming rain. Slight frustration creeping in among the home fans after a promising start as Preston twice get decent attempts on goal. Neither tests keeper Karl Darlow but encouraging stuff from the League One side."

  70. 20:16:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

Nicklas Bendtner takes a fine first touch to move away from a defender but then takes a total air shot. Typical.

The Coventry fans then have a minute's applause in the 31st-minute to ask why they have to play their home games 31 miles away in Northampton. Why indeed - we could go on all night debating that one, but to think that the Ricoh Arena is not being used at all seems bizarre doesn't it...

  71. 20:14:
    Arsenal 2-0 Coventry

It may be time to remind you all that these sides met in the League Cup last season - with the Gunners dishing out a 6-1 hiding.

The way Arsenal have played so far a repeat may be on the cards.

  72. 20:13:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 2-0 Coventry

"Total dominance by Arsenal. From a Coventry perspective, you have to defend a set-piece better. It's a poor mistake from them."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  73. 20:12:
GOAL- Arsenal 2-0 Coventry - Lukas Podolski (27 mins)

The old Steve Bould corner routine! Per Mertesacker gives it the eyebrows at the near post, helping the ball on to the back post where Lukas Podolski is free to head in from close range. Simple as that.

  74. 20:11:
    Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

BBC Sport's Owen Phillips at the City Ground: "Great save by Preston keeper Declan Rudd to beat away a fierce Simon Cox volley. Forest looking tidy in possession and full of confidence."

  75. 20:10:
Ex-Arsenal and Coventry striker John Hartson, BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 1-0 Coventry

"The problem Coventry have is that they can't get out. They need to get Leon Clarke on the ball to take the pressure of the midfielders and defenders. They need to have a spell of possession for 20 and 30 seconds to lift their confidence."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  76. 20:09:
    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry

Serge Gnabry hits a shot over from 20 yards after he cut inside onto his left foot from his starting position wide on the right. The youngster has looked very sharp again so far tonight.

  77. 20:07:
    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry

Coventry have had a slightly better few minutes since that Carl Baker solo run but when the ball gets over halfway they can't make it stick with Leon Clarke. It's impossible for them to build any sort of pressure so far.

    Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Tony Brown: I just wish Wenger would fill the team with Germans, they're quality at football

  79. 20:03:
    GREAT SAVE!- Arsenal 1-0 Coventry

Wow! Nearly one of the all-time FA Cup goals there! Coventry midfielder Carl Baker picks the ball up deep in his own half, meanders past Mesut Ozil and then runs away from three other Arsenal men, A lack of options ahead means he keeps going, beats another man and then shoots from 20 yards, forcing Lukasz Fabianski into a flying save!

Ricky Villa eat your heart out...

  80. 20:01:
    KICK-OFF- Nottm Forest 0-0 Preston

Game on at the City Ground now as well.

  81. 20:01:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 1-0 Coventry

"Arsenal are worth their lead. It was a mistake by a Coventry player to get caught on the ball. His team-mates were all coming out feeling they were in possession."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  82. 20:00:
GOAL- Arsenal 1-0 Coventry - Lukas Podolski (15 mins)

And there it is, right on cue! Mesut Ozil plays a neat through-ball to Lukas Podolski, the number nine takes a touch before sliding round goalkeeper Joe Murphy and burying the ball into the back of the net. Fine finish.

  83. 19:58:
Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 0-0 Coventry

"It's great to watch, when you see two teams at the highest level, they cancel each other out.

"But you can see the talent and understanding Arsenal have here. They're opening Coventry up. It's only a matter of time until they score if they keep on like this."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  84. 19:58:
    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry

Carl Jenkinson fancies a goal today. The right-back is basically playing up front and twice puts dangerous balls right across the face of goal.

Another siege on the Coventry goal then ends with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fizzing a shot over the top from 20 yards. A goal for the hosts is imminent. It has to be.

    Text us on 81111

Sam, Uckfield: Hate to say it, as a Man U fan, but Man City are unstoppable at the moment so surely they must have a big chance. Cupsets still possible though!

  86. 19:54:
    CLOSE!- Arsenal 0-0 Coventry

First real chance of the night! Carl Jenkinson charges forward from right-back, beats his man and puts in a testing cross into the six-yard box, Lukas Podolski gambles on it and gets there first but stabs his shot over the top on the stretch. The German forward should have buried that...

  87. 19:52:
    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry

Coventry see Arsenal keep the ball for over a minute of extended passes and when the visitors do get the ball back they lose it instantly. This is a world away from League One.

Graeme Le Saux, Former Chelsea defender on BBC Radio 5 liveArsenal 0-0 Coventry

"Coventry are exposed at every opportunity. Arsenal are flowing in their normal way."

You can listen to live commentary of this game on BBC Radio 5 live.

  89. 19:49:
    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry

Jack Wilshere fizzes a low shot wide for Arsenal before Coventry have their first attack, Leon Clarke the danger man almost gets a shot away but is closed down.

And Arsenal look really on the pace in the opening stages. Jack Wilshere turns away from trouble before the lively Serge Gnabry is stopped from getting a cross in. Gunners looking good.

  90. 19:47:
    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry

Decent start from Coventry who look organised and disciplined as they let the hosts have it until the halfway line before pressing hard. Mesut Ozil and Serge Gnabry then work a lovely little triangle down the right wing and win a corner.

It's under way at the League One game between Brentford and Gillingham by the way.

Coventry boss Steven Pressley on BBC Radio 5 live: "We have to have the mentality that we can go to Arsenal and keep trying to compete.

"The players have had a terrific attitude all season. They find a way.

"Two weeks ago we had no strikers, we played a centre-half up front and we got the result."

Juan Mata's club-record £37m transfer to Manchester United has been delayed until Chelsea complete the acquisition of Mohamed Salah from FC Basel.

The Blues have agreed an £11m deal for Salah, 21, but the Egypt midfielder needs to accept personal terms, undergo a medical and receive a work permit.

That process is not expected to be finalised until early next week.

Mata was expected in Manchester for a medical but United will not let it go ahead until Chelsea sign Salah.

We are under way in Germany. The Bundesliga is back.

    Arsene Wenger

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on BT Sport: "We need to focus to be at our best. We want to be in the hat tomorrow morning.

"Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is an important midfield player, he has barely played at all. It will take him a while to get back to his best. Hopefully he can last 90 minutes.

"You want to win every competition. We have created a momentum and it's important not to have any setbacks. Tonight is part of that momentum."

  101. 19:28:
    Arsenal v Coventry (1945 GMT)

It's remarkable that it's been nine years since the Gunners won a trophy. That may be why Arsene Wenger has named such a strong team this evening. He needs at least one trophy this term - particularly after his side have made such a fine start.

Can they add FA Cup number 11 to the cabinet this year?

ANY BUSINESS ARSENE?- Arsenal v Coventry (1945 GMT)

This time next week we'll be knee-deep in transfer madness. Will Arsenal be out shopping though?

Despite being linked with Schalke's Germany international midfielder Julian Draxler, and losing Theo Walcott to a season-ending injury, Arsene Wenger described his chances of adding to Arsenal's squad during the current transfer window as "very unlikely".

But he added: "If something exceptional turns up we will do it, but not everyone will strengthen - they buy, but that does not always mean strengthen."

Andrew, Richhill: If Coventry City want to do the impossible tonight they'll have to channel the spirit of 1987. It's hard to believe that this club, after all its recent financial problems, lifted the FA Cup just 26 years ago. They've fallen a long way since, so a win tonight would be magical.

James Sherman, Surbiton: Southend will win the cup, right after Phil Brown licks the tears off Hull faces tomorrow.

Ola, London: So no decent reserve defensive pairing good enough at Arsenal v Coventry? Lack of squad depth will catch up with Wenger sooner or later.

  105. 19:18:
Nottm Forest v Preston (2000 GMT)

Owen Phillips at the City Ground: "A miserable evening in Nottingham. It's lashing with rain, windy, cold and generally unpleasant. If ever football fans needed some thrilling FA Cup fare to warm their souls - and finger and toes - it's tonight.

"The game at least threatens to provide plenty of entertainment. Forest have been awesome at home of late, as the 5-0 destruction of Premier League side West Ham demonstrated in the last round. Preston, fourth in League One, have only lost twice in their last 19 games. And they disposed of Championship opposition in round three, beating Ipswich in a replay after drawing at Portman Road. It promises much."

  106. 19:16:
    Arsenal v Coventry (1945 GMT)

Inspirational stuff from Steven Pressley - who has done a fine job at Coventry this season. They started the season on -10 points but are only 10 points off the play-off places despite playing their 'home' games at Northampton's Sixfields.

  107. 19:15:
    Arsenal v Coventry (1945 GMT)

Coventry boss Steven Pressley on BT Sport: "We'd love to give the fans something to shout about. We'll have to work exceptionally hard.

"A lot of the usual fundamentals work towards tonight - it's also about how we press and how high a line we play.

"My message to my players is to take it and pass the ball under pressure. Otherwise it'll become relentless pressure from Arsenal.

"With a bit of luck sometimes the impossible can become possible."

"If I was a Coventry player I would be saying we need to keep our focus and win our individual battles. I don't think Coventry will have many chances, but if they do take one we could have an upset on our hands."

What's the best thing you've ever done for your parents? Moved out? Stopped eating everything in the fridge?

Raise your game. Barcelona have confirmed that Neymar's parents got £34m of the £48.6m paid for the Brazil striker in June.

The 21-year-old's former club Santos received the other £14.6m.

Former Barca president Sandro Rosell has resigned over claims that the actual amount paid was more than £48.6m and he misappropriated funds.

    Arsenal v Coventry (1945 GMT)

You can't win as a manager can you?

I imagine the crowd milling in the concourses and around the Emirates stadium will be surprised when they see that Arsenal line-up though. Gone big.

Niklas Lanwehr: I said it last season, will say it again: picking a strong team against weak opponents can only go wrong - hoping for no injuries

Neil Kerridge: Great to see a strong arsenal team winning breeds confidence and has a follow on effect for premiership and champions league.

  114. 19:02:

Louis brings us on nicely to the business of the transfer window. If you've missed any of today's done deals, here are the big ones:

Everton have signed 6ft 8ins striker Lacina Traore on loan from Monaco.

Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has signed Jo Inge Berget from his former club Molde for an undisclosed fee.

And, er, Championship side Blackpool have signed Blackburn striker David Goodwillie on loan until the end of the season.

    Text us on 81111

Louis, on a train in the Midlands: With Traore and Lukaku Everton have one of the most formidably physical frontlines in the league. Both loan rangers though, and that will bite in the summer.

  116. 18:56:

And there will be at least one recognisable face in the crowd at the Borussia Park this evening - Manchester United boss David Moyes.

Moyes may be close to breaking the club's transfer record for Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata but he needs a few more faces in at Old Trafford.

Who is he scouting this evening? Reports suggest he is keen on Borussia midfielder Patrick Herrmann and striker Max Kruse, while Bayern defender Dante has also been mentioned in dispatches.

  117. 18:56:
    Bayern Munich

While our top footballers have been slogging away all December and January, picking up hamstring injuries like parking tickets and ensuring they will arrive at the World Cup in a dreadful physical condition, the men in the Bundesliga have had their feet up, swigging schnapps, snacking on stollen and having a right old festive break.

But Pep Guardiola's all-conquering Bayern Munich are back in action this evening as they take on Borussia Monchengladbach.

  118. 18:53:
TEAM NEWS- Arsenal v Coventry (1945 GMT)

Bad news Coventry fans - Arsenal have named a strong, strong side. Mesut Ozil had already booked the weekend off and was on his way back to Germany when he got the call.

Coventry's top scorer Leon Clarke starts despite his recent transfer request.

Arsenal XI: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Gnabry, Podolski, Bendtner

Coventry XI: Murphy, Christie, Webster, Seaborne, Adams, Baker, Thomas, Fleck, Daniels, Moussa, L. Clarke

We expect wholesale changes from Arsenal tonight, but will they still have enough to see off Coventry? The BBC Sport Cupset-ometer is registering 'low to none' this evening - but it has been wrong in the past.

There's also a game on in League One tonight, as Brentford host Gillingham at Griffin Park.

Brentford fans may have feared that their promotion hopes would come unstuck after manager Uwe Rosler fled to Wigan, but Mark Warburton has done a blinding job since taking charge, with the Bees in second in the table.

A win tonight would take the Bees to top spot.

  121. 18:49:
RETURN OF THE KING- Nottm Forest v Preston (2000 GMT)

Tonight's other FA Cup game sees Preston fans come face-to-face with a familiar friend/foe in Forest boss Billy Davies.

Davies guided North End to the brink of the Premier League on two occasions - before losing in the play-offs - but then angered fans by leaving to take charge of Derby.

He took the Rams up though, and is currently in his second spell with Forest. Will the away end be rejoicing or revolting tonight?

  122. 18:46:
    Arsenal v Coventry (1945 GMT)

So can Coventry pull off a Cupset? Much may depend on the team Arsene Wenger selects - and we should know that very soon...

SKY BLUES KEANE ON REPEAT- Arsenal v Coventry (1945 GMT)
    Tony Adams & Robbie Keane

It's been a long time since Coventry beat Arsenal.

Fourteen years, to be precise. Before the Ricoh Arena, before the Emirates; Before renting out Sixfields, before Aidy Boothroyd, Iain Dowie, Chris Coleman, Andy Thorn and Mark Robins; back in the days when Arsenal's back five were all English.

Boxing Day 1999 was the last time the Sky Blues tasted victory against the Gunners, with goals from Highfield Road heroes Robbie Keane, Mustapha Hadji and Gary McAllister.

Fifty-four (54) league positions and many, many millions of pounds separate the sides these days but that won't stop the travelling thousands of fans dreaming of victory tonight.

It's the FA Cup. It's game on...
