Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance relieved to stay in play-off hunt

Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance said his side's 3-1 win over Chipstead was a welcome return to winning ways after a difficult run away from home.

Two goals from Dom Heaume and another from the prolific Ross Allen secured Guernsey their first league win away from home since the start of November.

"We've just got to keep on picking up as many points as we can to stay in the mix," he told BBC Guernsey.

"We set ourselves to win it and we played with the right ideas and style."

The Green Lions are in third place in the table, but have sides with games in hand above and below them.

"We knew there'd be an aerial onslaught and we had to deal with that, but we had always had a threat up front," added Vance.

"Dom caused them all sorts of problems and that allowed Ross to be freer and they both did really well for their goals.

"All in all, it was a pretty solid performance and we deserved to win the game but we cant afford to drop any points as there's teams with games in hand with us who will overtake us."
