Tottenham 2-0 Crystal Palace: Sherwood sorry to lose Jermain Defoe

Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood says he is sorry to lose Jermain Defoe, after the striker scored his team's second goal in 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in his last game for the club before he moves to MLS side Toronto.

Jason Puncheon missed a first-half penalty for Palace, but Christian Eriksen put Tottenham ahead just after half-time before Defoe came off the bench to make the game safe for Spurs.

Defoe has scored 143 goals for Tottenham, making him the fifth highest scorer in the club's history. His tally of 22 goals as a substitute is the highest in Premier League history.
