Nicky Wroe struck a late winner for Oxford against 10-man Wycombe to give them their first win in six games.
The hosts' afternoon started badly as a fiery Steven Craig was shown a straight red card for elbowing Johnny Mullins in an aerial duel.
Oxford's James Constable and Ryan Williams both fired over from long range with Wycombe's rearguard action keeping the visitors at bay.
However with three minutes remaining Wroe fired home from outside the area.

Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"I put my name to that performance. The fans appreciated it at the end and I did as well. The lads gave me every single ounce of energy they had, they were brilliant today.
"It's taken a wonder strike from the edge of the box to beat us. We're down, but if we play like that then we're going to have no problems. We'll win a lot more than we lose.
"The red card had a big toll on the game and unfortunately with 10 men it's always going to be difficult.
"I don't think Steve (Craig) meant to get sent off, but if your arm's flailing about then you're risking it. I want to have a go at him but I know he's as gutted as anyone."
