Mansfield ended their 13-match winless run in League Two with victory at promotion hopefuls Cheltenham.
The Stags opened the scoring through Anthony Howell's 20-yard strike, which was deflected beyond Scott Brown.
The home side were punished again in injury time when Matt Rhead headed home from a James Jennings corner.
Cheltenham piled on the pressure in the second half, but had to wait until 87 minutes for Sido Jombati's consolation effort after Kemar Roofe's corner.
It was the Robins' first taste of defeat in 12 games.

Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"We didn't help ourselves, we didn't move the ball quick enough and we had plenty of good chances.
"We didn't get into any pattern or tempo today. I think from the first minute we knew what it was going to be like - I think we just fell into their trap today.
"We have been in decent form - one defeat in eleven is not going to deter us from what we're trying to do."
