Manchester United: Sir Alex Ferguson's farewell

BBC Sport's Guy Mowbray and John Motson look back at the story that sent shockwaves through the football world in 2013, the retirement of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson after almost 27 years at Old Trafford.

With the Premier League title already won, Ferguson announced he was stepping down in May with two matches remaining, and after a 2-1 win over Swansea in his last home match, the Scot signed off by watching his side draw 5-5 against West Brom at The Hawthorns.

Ferguson, who won 38 trophies during his reign at Old Trafford and is now a director and ambassador for the club, was succeeded by David Moyes.
