Andre Villas-Boas: Spurs did not give him time, says Sam Allardyce

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce says there is a "lack of patience" in football, following Spurs' sacking of Andre Villas-Boas on Monday.

The Hammers manager says it would have taken a "miracle worker" to get the best out of Tottenham's newly formed squad this season.

Speaking before his side's League Cup quarter-final with Spurs on Wednesday, Allardyce added he still expects his opponents to provide an "exceptionally difficult game" under interim head coach Tim Sherwood.
