Accrington climbed out of the League Two relegation zone and stretched their unbeaten league run to six games with a comfortable win at Scunthorpe.
George Bowerman opened the scoring for the visitors with an excellent angled shot into the far corner of the net.
Bowerman turned provider 10 minutes later when his left-wing cross was headed home by Kayode Odejayi.
On-loan debutant Reuben Noble-Lazarus came closest for Scunthorpe when his long-range effort rattled the post.
The win means Accrington move above second-from-bottom Torquay on goal difference.
VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Scunthorpe United boss Brian Laws told BBC Radio Humberside:
"It was a very slow tempo to the game, we never got into it and were not at the races during the first half and the fans know that.
"I know that too and was very disappointed with some of the players out there today.
"We needed some service and the fact that we had two crosses in the first half, when we had chances to actually cross the ball but didn't, was frustrating.
"I can't hide it and I won't hide it - we are bitterly disappointed with individuals. I have said some things to them in the dressing room and I'll maintain that's where it's going to stay."
