Coventry midfielder Billy Daniels to undergo hernia surgery

Coventry City midfielder Billy Daniels is to undergo a hernia operation in Germany later this week.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who has scored three times in eight games this season, was a last-minute substitute in the weekend victory at Walsall.

Quick out of the blocks

Daniels bagged three goals in Coventry's first two games this season but has not scored since.

But he has not started a game since the Sky Blues drew with Preston in August.

"He's given us a valuable option this season already and we're hoping he will be back in contention in a couple of weeks," said manager Steven Pressley.

Daniels is likely to miss Coventry's League One matches against Notts County and Bradford City, as well as the FA Cup first round clash at Wimbledon sandwiched in between.
