Raith Rovers kept the pressure on Scottish Championship leaders Hamilton Academical after scraping a win over 10-man Livingston.
The win was secured thanks to Gordon Smith's first-half effort and takes Rovers to within two points of Accies.
Smith was in the right place at the right time in the 21st minute when he coolly finished Liam Fox's cross.
Livingston midfielder Danny Denholm was dismissed for a wayward tackle on Calum Elliot after 35 minutes.
That came 60 seconds after Rovers squandered a chance to extend their lead when an Elliot penalty was saved by Livingston goalkeeper Darren Jamieson.
Livi put up a sterling fight after the break in restricting Rovers' opportunities.
And they could have even snatched a point only for Martin Scott to miss the target from a good position.
