  1. 2300:

And if all that excitement wasn't enough for you then we are doing it all again on Sunday.

Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan go head-to-head, while another heavyweight clash takes place in France as Marseille and Paris St-Germain play in 'Le Classique'. Join us again from 1900 BST. You'd be a fool to miss it.

  2. 2255:

So that's about everything from a breathless day of European football.

It is the final weekend of Munich's renowned Oktoberfest festival and many steins of strong Bavarian lager will be sunk there tonight. Suspect even more will be clincked in celebration now Bayern Munich have moved above Borussia Dortmund to the top of of the Bundesliga, despite the dropping of two points in the Ruhr Valley.

The Spanish cities of Barcelona and Madrid will also be rocking after cracking wins for their leading La Liga teams, while Rome will be electric after Serie A leaders Roma's stunning victory at Inter Milan.

  3. 2247:
Spanish La LigaFULL-TIME- Barcelona 4-1 Valladolid

It is raining in Barcelona but nothing can dampen the mood in the home dressing room as the final whistle signals an eighth straight league win this season. Alexis Sanchez missed a late chance to secure his hat-trick with a header straight at the keeper as Real Valladolid, who had taken the lead, were blown apart in the second half.

It means Barca open a three point lead at the top of La Liga. Even at this early stage of the season, they look formidable. And they still have Lionel Messi to come back into the team.

  4. 2246:
    Spanish La LigaBarcelona 4-1 Valladolid

Barcelona might have scored 28 times in eight La Liga games this season but still they look for more in the dying moments at the Nou Camp. Sergio Busquets is on for Gerard Pique. Valladolid, whose goal now seems such a long time ago, are playing like a team that cannot wait for the game to finish.

  5. 2240:
Spanish La LigaLevante 2-3 Real Madrid

Real Madrid goalscorer Sergio Ramos ‏after his team's late 3-2 win at Levante: Complicated game and three very important points. Pride and character from the team to not give up. Hala Madrid..!!

  6. 2239:
    Spanish La LigaBarcelona 4-1 Valladolid

After scoring three times in 18 minutes, Barcelona have taken their foot off the gas. An eighth straight La Liga win for Gerardo Martino's side beckons.

  7. 2236:
Italian Serie AInter Milan 0-3 Roma

Inter coach Walter Mazzarri after his side's 3-0 home defeat by Serie A leaders Roma: "I don't just look at the result. I'm trying to improve this team and give them belief and I saw signs of that tonight too. It's disappointing because the scoreline doesn't reflect what happened on the pitch.

"We weren't inferior to Roma but that's football for you. What matters is that the lads keep playing well. The results will come. I'm happy with the squad I have. This was just a glitch. We must keep going on the road we're on."

  9. 2228:
Spanish La LigaGOAL- Barcelona 4-1 Valladolid - Neymar (69 mins)
    Neymar

That's surely it now. Goalscorer Alexis Sanchez turns provider this time as his unselfish pass to Neymar inside the Valladolid area allows the Brazil international to fire past the keeper from 10-yards. There's still another 20 odd minutes remaining. This could get ugly for Valladolid.

  10. 2220:
Spanish La LigaGOAL- Barcelona 3-1 Valladolid - Alexis (64 mins)

Another free-flowing Barca move, another goal. The move starts with Fausto Rossi being dispossessed before Xavi finds Neymar inside the penalty area. His neat pass allows Alexis Sanchez to find the net with a delightful finish. It is exhibition stuff now.

  11. 2218:
    Spanish La LigaBarcelona 2-1 Valladolid

Having played a key role in his side's second goal, Cristian Tello attempts to seal the points from long range but his effort hits the woodwork. A wonderful effort. Barca are on top and looking to add to their tally.

  12. 2209:
Spanish La LigaGOAL- Barcelona 2-1 Valladolid - Xavi (52 mins)

Barcelona are in front for the first time and Neymar is heavily involved as he feeds Cristian Tello who in turn sends a low pass to Xavi to steer past the goalkeeper. An excellent move and a fine finish.

  13. 2207:
    Spanish La Liga

FC Barcelona: 64,659 fans have made their way to the Camp Nou for tonight's match against Valladolid.

  14. 2206:
    Spanish La LigaBarcelona 1-1 Valladolid

We're back underway at the Nou Camp and almost immediately Fausto Rossi is booked for a foul on Neymar just outside the Valladolid penalty area. The Brazil international picks himself up but his free-kick is disappointing and sails wide of the target.

Varuth Kuonsongtha: Loving Hyypia's managerial skills with Bayer Leverkusen. One day to return to Anfield and be manager. Destined.

  16. 2150:
Spanish La LigaHALF-TIME- Barcelona 1-1 Valladolid

A frustrating first-half for Barcelona draws to a close. The hosts have dominated possession yet have struggled to stamp their authority despite the efforts of Alexis Sanchez. Valladolid, one win all season, will be delighted with the opening 45 minutes. However, it is job half done as far as they are concerned and can expect Barca to crank up the pressure as the game progresses.

  17. 2144:
    French Ligue 1FULL-TIME

    Guingamp 2-0 Rennes

    Lille 3-0 Ajaccio

    Nantes 3-0 Evian Thonon Gaillard

    Toulouse 1-0 Nice

    Valenciennes 1-1 Reims

  18. 2142:
    Spanish La LigaBarcelona 1-1 Valladolid

The home fans are trying to rally their team in the Nou Camp. But the visitors are working hard and pressing when they can. Barcelona's one bright spark has been Alexis Sanchez, who has teased and tormented Valladolid. Yet his team are being held, there is no Lionel Messi and the frustration is building.

  19. 2137:
Italian Serie AFULL-TIME- Inter Milan 0-3 Roma
    Roma

Roma are in seventh heaven! The Serie A leaders stroll to their seventh straight win to extend their advantage over second-placed Napoli, who play on Sunday, to five points. Inter Milan were supposed to provide Rudi Garcia's charges with their first stern test. That didn't materialise did it?

  20. 2134:
Italian Serie AINJURY TIME- Inter Milan 0-3 Roma

Most of the stands inside the San Siro are empty now as Inter Milan move into stoppage time needing a miracle against Roma. That miracle won't happen.

  21. 2133:
    Spanish La LigaBarcelona 1-1 Valladolid
    Neymar

That's more like it from Barca. Cesc Fabregas spots Neymar's run into the Valladolid penalty area and his inch-perfect pass leaves the Brazilian in a one-against-one situation with the visitors goalkeeper.

But Diego Marino is equal to the challenge and saves well with his right foot. Then Carlos Pena appears to bring down Neymar inside the area but the referee says no penalty much to the anger of the home fans.

  22. 2126:
    Spanish La LigaBarcelona 1-1 Valladolid

This is far from vintage Barcelona. More sloppy defending almost results in the visitors taking the lead for a second time, a powerful run by Omar Ramos causing all sorts of problems for the hosts.

  23. 2124:
Italian Serie ARED CARD- Inter Milan 0-3 Roma

What appeared to be a perfect night for Serie A leaders Roma has been hampered by the dismissal of Federico Balzaretti. The Italy defender, who looks like an 1950s spiv with his shifty moustache and slicked back barnet, needlessly launches into a sliding tackle which deservedly earns him a second yellow card.

  24.
    GET INVOLVED

Shohidur Rahman: That early Valladolid goal is why Barca won't win the Champions League. Their average defence will be exploited by the likes of Bayern and Dortmund.

  25. 2118:
Italian Serie AGREAT SAVE!- Inter Milan 0-3 Roma

Gervinho shows searing pace to split the Inter Milan defence and could seal an away victory as he bears down on goal. The Ivorian maintains composure (honestly Arsenal fans) before trying to slide beyond Inter stopper Samir Handanovic, who denies the Roma forward with a smart stop.

  26. 2114:
Spanish La LigaGOAL- Barcelona 1-1 Valladolid - Alexis Sanchez (14 mins)
    Alexis Sanchez

Barcelona are behind for just five minutes as Alexis Sanchez finds the top right hand corner of the net with a powerful 25-yard finish. Valladolid's players back away from the Chile international allowing him a strike on goal. And what a strike. The Nou Camp rises to salute a very special finish.

  27. 2113:
Italian Serie ADISALLOWED GOAL- Inter Milan 0-3 Roma

Inter are pushing against Roma and think they have a goal back - but are denied by the referee. Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis drops Rodrigo Palacio's flicked header under pressure from Andrea Ranocchia, who bundles the ball in to the away net. But the official reckons De Sanctis was impended by the Inter player.

  28. 2110:
GOAL- Barcelona 0-1 Valladolid - Guerra (9 mins)

The Nou Camp falls silent as Javi Guerra takes advantage of some poor home defending to put the visitors ahead after glancing in a header from an inswinging corner. The look on Gerardo Martino's face says it all. The Barcelona manager is clearly not happy as his side are caught out at the back.

  29. 2109:
    Spanish La LigaBarcelona 0-0 Valladolid

After the late drama in Valencia, it has been a fairly quiet opening at Nou Camp. As expected, it is the hosts who are dominating the early exchanges but Cesc Fabregas has blazed the game's best chance so far over the bar from close range.

  30. 2102:
Spanish La LigaLINE-UPS- Barcelona 0-0 Valladolid

  31. 2100:
Spanish La LigaKICK-OFF- Barcelona 0-0 Valladolid

After Cristiano Ronaldo's dramatic winner in Valencia, attention switches to further up the east coast of Spain where Barcelona host Valladolid. The Catalan side are aiming to extend their unbeaten La Liga start to an eight match. That game is underway at the Nou Camp.

  32. 2055:
Italian Serie AInter Milan 0-3 Roma

Amidst all of that drama over in Spain, Serie A leaders Roma's rout against Inter Milan has restarted. The home side have showed glimpses of an attacking threat in the early stages, but need to grab a goal rather sharpish.

  33. 2052:
Spanish La LigaFULL-TIME- Levante 2-3 Real Madrid

And it's all over! What a breathless final eight minutes as Real Madrid turn around a 2-1 deficit to snatch all three points from Levante. The home dressing room will be flatter than a car tyre which has trundled over broken glass.

  34. 2051:
Spanish La LigaGOAL- Levante 2-3 Real Madrid (Ronaldo 90+4)

Heartbreak for Levante as Cristiano Ronaldo's deflected shot goes in off the post to give Real Madrid a victory that seemed unlikely a couple of minutes earlier. Somehow Carlo Ancelotti's have secured three points after twice coming from behind. You cannot say Real lack spirit but they certainly made hard work of this.

  35. 2046:
Spanish La LigaGOAL- Levante 2-2 Real Madrid - Morata (90 mins)
    Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata

Just when Levante thought they had done enough up pops Alvaro Morata with an equaliser. The 20-year-old shows a great first touch in a congested Levante penalty area before finding the net with a composed finish. Levante's players fall to the ground. Madrid are eager to press on. They feel there is still enough time to win this.

  36.
    Inter Milan 0-3 Roma
    Roma boss Rudi Garcia

Italian football journalist Paolo Bandini: Headlines can go to Totti, Gervinho, Florenzi, whoever. The real star of this Roma show is Roma boss Rudi Garcia. Truly unbelievable job he's doing.

  37. 2041:
Spanish La LigaGOAL- Levante 2-1 Real Madrid - El Zhar (86 mins)

Astonishing scenes at the Ciutat de València as substitute Nabil El Zhar scores a sublime individual goal to leave Real Madrid staring at a second successive La Liga defeat. El Zhar gets between two Real defenders and delays his shot before wrapping his foot around the ball and gives Diego Lopez no chance with a fierce finish.

  38. 2039:
Spanish La LigaLevante 1-1 Real Madrid

Six La Liga games without a goal for Karim Benzema now. The France forward has rarely threatened and Carlo Ancelotti has decided to replace him as the game enters the final 10 minutes. Even Cristiano Ronaldo has looked average by his sky high standards. His free-kick cannons into the Levante wall, Madrid need inspiration from somewhere.

  40. 2033:
Italian Serie AGOAL- Inter Milan 0-3 Roma - Alessandro Florenzi (44 mins)

Now that must be game over! Roma leave almost the entire San Siro dazed and confused with a brilliant breakaway goal. One moment Inter were taking a corner, the next they were picking the ball out of their net.

That man Francesco Totti brilliantly flicks into the path of Kevin Strootman who drives forward into space before slipping in Alessandro Florenzi. He then fires an unstoppable angled drive into the Inter net. Easy game isn't it?

  41. 2033:
Spanish La LigaLevante 1-1 Real Madrid

The clock is ticking and Real Madrid need another goal in the final 15 minutes otherwise Carlo Ancelotti's side could find themselves seven points behind Barcelona just eight games into the season.

  42. 2030:
Spanish La LigaLevante 1-1 Real Madrid

What a miss. Real have taken control since equalising and, after Karim Benzema forces a save from the goalkeeper, the unmarked Marcelo is presented with a golden chance to put the visitors ahead but fires over with the net gaping with his right foot. Levante breathe a sigh of relief.

  43. 2029:
GOAL- Inter Milan 0-2 Roma - Francesco Totti (40 mins)
    Francesco Totti

Only one man was going to take this wasn't he? Yep, you're right - Francesco Totti. The Roma skipper takes two strides before thumping a sledgehammer of a penalty into the Inter net. Game over for the Nerazzurri?

  44. 2028:
PENALTY TO ROMA- Inter Milan 0-1 Roma

Inter had mounted a comeback of sorts against Serie A leaders Roma, but they have shot themselves in the foot by conceding a penalty. Inter defender Alvaro Periera clumsily hacks down ex-Arsenal forward Gervinho - and the referee has no hesitation in pointing to the spot.

Italian Serie AInter Milan 0-1 Roma

Spanish La LigaGOAL- Levante 1-1 Real Madrid - Sergio Ramos (61 mins)
    Sergio Ramos

The Levante fans are still celebrating Baba Diawara's goal when the home defence switches off, Sergio Ramos turning the ball over the line from close range following a corner. It was scruffy. It was scrappy. But Real Madrid are just happy to be on level terms.

  48. 2014:
Italian Serie AHITS THE WOODWORK- Inter Milan 0-1 Roma

Inter almost grab an quickfire equaliser. Colombian forward Fredy Guarin skips in from the flank before unleashing a rocket of a left-footed shot. Roma keeper Morgan De Sanctis remains rooted to his spot and is thankful to see Guarin's shot cannon back off his left-hand upright. The woodwork is still shaking now...

  49. 2012:
Spanish La LigaGOAL- Levante 1-0 Real Madrid - Baba Diawara (57 mins)

Well, you cannot say that Levante don't deserve this. The hard-working hosts hit Madrid with a lightning break which results in Baba Diawara volleying low past Diego Lopez. A superb finish that would not have looked out of place at the Bernabeu Stadium. Suddenly Real find themselves battling to avoid a second successive La Liga defeat.

  50. 2012:
    Inter Milan 0-1 Roma

Italian football journalist Paolo Bandini: Goal number 229 in Serie A for Francesco Totti. What's truly ridiculous is how many of them have looked that good.

  51. 2011:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid

Former Liverpool player Alvaro Arbeloa is booked for a cynical foul on Juanfran before Cristiano Ronaldo goes close to breaking the deadlock with a terrific individual effort in front of a crowd of 24,102. A flash of individual brilliance is just what Real need right now.

  52. 2006:
Italian Serie AGOAL- Inter Milan 0-1 Roma - Francesco Totti (18 mins)

Will Roma skipper Francesco Totti ever show any signs of age? The 36-year-old arrows in a clinical 20-yard strike to put surprise leaders the Giallorossi ahead in the San Siro. Superb technique to slash his devilish right foot across a square pass from team-mate Gervinho to fire perfectly into the bottom corner.

  53. 2005:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid
    Levante v Real Madrid

We're back underway in Valencia. Real need to find the combination to unlock Levante's defence, but it's the hosts who start the second half as they finished the first, the hard-working Pape Diop forcing a stinging save from Diego Lopez.

  57.
Spanish La LigaHALF-TIME- Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

The home players walk off to a standing ovation after giving their illustrious opponents a scare or two. Real Madrid have created little and that will be a worry for manager Carlo Ancelotti. This is a game Real cannot afford to drop any points in even this early into the season.

  58. 1950:
Italian Serie AKICK-OFF- Inter Milan 0-0 Roma
    Roma

After a minute's silence for the victims of Italy's Lampedusa boat disaster, the match in a packed San Siro kicks off. Both Inter Milan and Roma, led by captain Francesco Totti, wore t-shirts in memory of those involved during their pre-match warm-up.

  59. 1949:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid

Levante finish the half strongly as Diego Lopez produces a stunning save to keep out Baba Diawara's excellent effort from just outside the penalty area. It is a fast and it is furious game - and Real Madrid are growing frustrated as the half draws to a close.

  60. 1946:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid

The temperature continues to rise inside the Ciutat de València, Isco threads a ball across the Levante penalty area for Angel di Maria, who is in an offside position. Di Maria takes a tumble which does not impress the home players. Moments later, Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo are frustrated as their attempts to break the deadlock end in failure.

  62. 1942:
Italian Serie AInter Milan v Roma (1945 BST)

The big games are coming thick and fast tonight - we are moments away from the big Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Roma at the San Siro.

Serie A leaders Roma, under the guidance of new coach Rudi Garcia, have won all of their opening six fixtures to hold a two-point advantage over second-placed Napoli. But fourth-placed Inter have not been beaten either. Will anything give tonight?

  63. 1938:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid

Levante have only scored six times in seven La Liga games this season, but Pape Diop goes close to finding the Real net after a clever piece of individual play on the edge of the penalty area.

The 27-year-old creates an opening after evading a couple of challenges but his shot flies over the bar to the visitors relief of the visitors.

    Mainz 2-2 Hoffenheim

    Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

  65. 1933:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid

Half an hour on the clock and we have just seen the first flash of Cristiano Ronaldo threatening the Levante goal. A clumsy foul by Hector Rodas on Karim Benzema presents Ronaldo with his first sight of goal and his deflected free-kick forces a fine save by the Levante goalkeeper.

  66. 1930:
German BundesligaFULL-TIME- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich
    Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos

Before tonight, Toni Kroos's last goal for Bayern Munich was at Arsenal in the Champions League in February. The 23-year-old's effort against Leverkusen is his first in the Bundesliga since scoring in a 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund last December.

It was not enough to give Bayern victory at Leverkusen - but they still go top of the Bundesliga after Borussia Dortmund's earlier defeat at Borussia Monchengladbach. The draw also means Leverkusen move level with Dortmund on 19 points after eight matches.

  67. 1927:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid

Levante were beaten 7-0 on the opening day of the season at Barcelona but they are showing no sign of crumbling against Real so far. Indeed, Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez is put under pressure by Baba Diawara from a cross. The visitors are going to have to be patient if they are to return to winning ways on the La Liga stage.

  68. 1925:
German BundesligaFULL-TIME- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

And that is that! The referee blows his full-time whistle to a chorus of jeers from the Leverkusen fans. They felt the home team should have been given the chance to nick an injury-time winner from the penalty spot. And Leverkusen boss Sami Hyypia agrees - he looks livid.

But they didn't get the decision and must settle for a hard-earned, and perhaps lucky, point after holding out a dominate Bayern side.

  69. 1922:
German BundesligaPENALTY APPEAL- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

All sorts of chaos at BayArena in a blockbusting finish! Leverkusen clear off their own line after a Bayern corner, before the home side storm forward on the counter. Leverkusen cry for a penalty as one of their players tumbles in the away penalty box - but it is waved away!

  70. 1919:
INJURY TIME- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Heading into injury-time at BayArena. The vociferous home fans are clapping every Leverkusen touch and each break in play. They know their side are close to earning a vital point.

  71. 1918:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid

Levante win a free-kick in a decent position but Pape Diop's effort is weak and a good chance for the hosts disappears. At the other end, Sergio Ramos forces a comfortable save following a Real corner. This game has yet to get going and Real have yet to get out of second gear.

  72. 1915:
FINAL FIVE- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Mario Gotze has been a bit-part player for Bayern Munich since his record Bundesliga transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer - now he has the opportunity to pay back a huge slice of his £31m transfer fee. The Germany attacking midfielder enters the action for only his third top-flight appearance for FCB. Can he provide the breakthrough?

  73. 1914:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid

We have only been playing 12 minutes but it is already clear that the referee is in for a busy night. The tackles are flying in and the opening exchanges are very much stop-start. The stretcher is on after Sami Khedira goes down but Real's Germany international is able to carry on.

  74. 1911:
    Spanish La LigaSTAT ATTACK

OptaJose: Levante have lost six of their eight previous home league meetings with Real Madrid (W1 D1), scoring just three goals in total (12 conceded).

  75. 1909:
German BundesligaTEN TO GO- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich
    Stefan Kiessling

We have almost forgotten about Stefan Kiessling, so little has the Leverkusen striker's impact been. But he pops up to meet a long punt into the Bayern box, only to send his free header whizzing over Manuel Neuer's goal.

  76. 1908:
Spanish La LigaLevante 0-0 Real Madrid

Any suggestion that Real Madrid could be in for a comfortable evening vanish as Baba Diawara demonstrates Levante's intentions with an ambitious attempt from distance which clears the bar. It is a determined start by the hosts.

  77. 1906:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Here's a real chance for Arjen Robben to make an impact. The Bayern substitute grimaces as he stands over a 20-yard free-kick before curling a left-foot effort towards the far corner. But Leverkusen keeper Bernd Leno is there - not for the first time - to save his side.

  78. 1904:
Spanish La LigaKICK-OFF- Levante 0-0 Real Madrid

We're underway at a packed Ciutat de Valencia, where Real Madrid are wearing their famous all white strip. Remember, there's no Gareth Bale but Cristiano Ronaldo is looking to add to his impressive haul of 14 goals in 10 appearances for club and country.

  79. 1900:
German BundesligaSUBSTITUTION- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

I can almost hear Gael Clichy gulp with fear - here's his nemesis Arjen Robben. The Dutchman tore apart Manchester City left-back Clichy in their midweek clash and now Pep Guardiola has turned to the forward to unlock a tiring Leverkusen defence. Robben is exactly who the home players would NOT have wanted to see entering the action.

  80.
    Spanish La LigaSTAT ATTACK

OptaJose: Real Madrid won their last trip to the Ciutat de Valencia thanks to a first career league goal from Alvaro Morata.

Spanish La LigaLevante v Real Madrid

We're approaching kick-off in Valencia where ninth-place Levante take on a Real Madrid side desperate to return to winning ways on the domestic stage following last week's surprise 1-0 home defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Can Carlo Ancelotti's side bounce back in style? We're about to find out.

  82. 1856:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern's rampaging left-back David Alaba has caused carnage down the Leverkusen right all day. And again he is the architect to set up Thomas Muller - but the Germany forward can't direct his header. Pep Guardiola's side are more controlling than a jealous lover at the moment.

If the score stays like this then Bayern Munich will go one point clear at the top of the Bundesliga table. But there's still another 20 odd minutes to go and this game could go either way. Bayer Leverkusen know they will go top if they win. It's going to be a tense finale.

  84. 1851:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Bernd Leno has almost single handedly kept Bayern at bay, but this time the Leverkusen stopper is not called into action as Zherdan Shaqiri wastes another chance. The Switzerland winger loses his composure to blaze high over the home crossbar when well placed. Can the home side hang on?

  85. 1847:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern, stung by that Leverkusen half-chance, quickly swarm up the other end of the pitch as Franck Ribery warms the palms of home goalkeeper Bernd Leno with a crisp volley and another sharp shot seconds later.

  86. 1845:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

A rare foray forward from Leverkusen almost causes a moment of panic in the Bayern defence. Almost. Sidney Sam senses an opportunity to steal a march on Dante, before the Brazilian shifts up a gear to calmly dribble around his own goalkeeper Manuel Neuer before passing the ball clear. Cool as a cucumber.

  87. 1841:
TEAM NEWS- Levante v Real Madrid (1900 BST)

  88. 1837:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Big Sami Hyypia clearly agreed with that decision. But the Finn remonstrates with the official about something or other and receives a stern word of warning for his troubles. He should be grateful his team aren't facing a penalty.

  89. 1835:
PENALTY APPEAL- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Normal service resumes as Bayern Munich pile on the pressure straight away. Thomas Muller tumbles to the floor inside the Leverkusen box as home defender Omer Toprak grabs a fistful of his shirt. No penalty says the referee....

  90. 1832:
KICK-OFF- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

The two sides are back out on a rather damp BayArena pitch - and the Leverkusen players looked rather pleased to be level pegging at the start of the second half. Their boss Sami Hyypia cuts a animated figure as jabs one hand into another as he chews the fat with his assistant.

  91. 1828:
Spanish La LigaLevante v Real Madrid (1900 BST)

Real manager Carlo Ancelotti says that Bale has become frustrated that he is yet to hit full stride for his new club, but believes the winger will be fit and ready when Madrid host Malaga after the international break on 19 October.

Ancelotti says: "He's not happy because he was looking forward to playing. He's had a rough patch and that's normal when someone wants to play and can't. He's calm and mentally he's doing well. It's a small issue, nothing serious, and it will be taken care of in 15 days."

Real Madrid's Gareth Bale in action during the derby defeat to Atletico Madrid

Once again Real Madrid are without Gareth Bale because of a thigh injury, the former Tottenham player having made just one start since completing his world-record move to Spain. The 24-year-old was a second-half substitute in last week's 1-0 derby defeat to Atletico Madrid, before again being struck down by injury.

  93. 1825:
Spanish La LigaLevante v Real Madrid (1900 BST)

Seven games into the La Liga season and Real Madrid already find themselves five points behind leaders, reigning champions and old rivals Barcelona. Despite a resounding 4-0 win over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League in midweek, last week's surprise 1-0 home defeat to Atletico Madrid - who start the weekend level on points with Barca - has left Carlo Ancelotti's team playing catch-up.

Maximum points are a must at Levante but Real face a side unbeaten in the last four league games and who came away from Osasuna last Sunday with a 1-0 win.

  94. 1822:
    CONTINENTAL DRIFT

While the German teams smash through their half-time oranges, it is an opportune time to see what other European treats we have to offer you.

Spanish giants Real Madrid kick off at Levante in about 40 minutes, before we hop over the Mediterranean Sea for Italian leaders Roma against Inter Milan. Then we will make a return trip to Spain, where unbeaten Barcelona host Valladolid. That enough to keep you interested tonight?! It should be.

  95. 1818:
German BundesligaHALF-TIME- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

No added time at BayArena - which is quite an anomaly. But there has been nothing peculiar about the pattern of play - Bayern Munich have dominated against third-placed Leverkusen.

However, they have failed to make their dominance count. It means they are deadlocked at the interval with Sidney Sam levelling for the hosts after ex-Leverkusen hero Toni Kroos opened the scoring.

  96. 1815:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich
    Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has been very animated on the sidelines at the BayArena but has been pretty subdued since Sidney Sam equalised for the hosts. This game could still go either way - but the scoreline certainly flatters Leverkusen at the moment.

  97. 1812:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Back in the BayArena, the hosts are continuing to cling on to this 1-1 scoreline. Bayern winger Xherdan Shaqiri fires in a shot which is unconvincingly dealt with by Leverkusen keeper Bernd Leno, while team-mate Dante goes close from the resulting corner.

  98. 1809:
    Italian Serie A

Down in southern Europe, there is some action in Italy's Serie A. And Atalanta take the lead away to Chievo courtesy of Maxi Moralez's first goal in over a year.

  99. 1805:
CLOSE!- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern should be back ahead already. A slick move involving Franck Ribery and David Alaba opens up the Leverkusen defence to leave Thomas Muller with the simplest of close-range headers. But, unbelievably, the Germany forward heads over the crossbar. Pep Guardiola's jaw almost hit the floor on the touchline.

  100. 1801:
GOAL- Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Bayern Munich - Sidney Sam (31 mins)

Can you believe it?! Leverkusen hit back within 60 seconds after a howler from Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer. The Germany international flaps at a high ball before parrying a shot which allows Sidney Sam to gratefully tap in the rebound. What a response!

  101. 1800:
GOAL- Bayer Leverkusen 0-1 Bayern Munich - Toni Kroos (30 mins)

The pressure has finally told. There was never any doubt was there? Toni Kroos slams in from close range after being teed up by Franck Ribery.

  102. 1758:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern Munich

Stefan Kiessling finally finds a chink in the Bayern defensive armour as he peels away from centre-halves Jerome Boateng and Dante to latch on to Giulio Donati's throughball. But he responds with a heavy touch which goes out for a goal-kick. Dreadful.

  103.
    GET INVOLVED

Andrew Priestley: If Bayer Leverkusen want to challenge for the title and match Bayern & Dortmund, they need to become more solid at the back.

  104. 1753:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern Munich

Disappointingly, we have not seen much of Leverkusen's attacking prowess yet. Bayern striker Stefan Kiessling is one of the Bundesliga's most potent frontman - he was the top-flight's leading goalscorer last term - but has been a bystander in this encounter.

  105. 1750:
CLOSE!- Bayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern have made an impressive opening in a hostile BayArena, with chief conductor Franck Ribery aiming to silence the home audience. The Frenchman finds space on the edge of the home penalty area and sends a low 20-yard effort whistling past the Leverkusen post.

  106.

OptaFranz: It's Jerome Boateng's 100th competitive match for Bayern Munich.

  107. 1744:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern Munich

At times watching this Bayern mob is akin to watching a snarling beast toying with its prey. And they almost move in for the early kill twice in quick succession. First Thomas Muller, playing as the focal point of Pep Guardiola's side, misfires when well placed, before Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno gratefully gathers a loose ball inside his six-yard box after a piece of trickery by Franck Ribery.

  108. 1740:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern midfielder Toni Kroos is man who Leverkusen should know all about, with the Germany international enjoying a successful loan spell with the club earlier in his fledgling career. But he is given the freedom of the Leverkusen left channel by the home defence before horribly miscuing across the face of goal.

  109. 1736:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern Munich

But Franck Ribery's set-piece is cleared and the hosts make a collective sigh of relief as they look to settle down in the early stages.

  110. 1733:
German BundesligaBayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern start at a rampant pace - as they did at Manchester City on Wednesday. Leverkusen look a little shellshocked and have barely had a kick before they concede a corner.

  111. 1730:
    KICK-OFF

Bayern's galaxy of superstars have peeled off their Oktoberfest-inspired tracksuits and are ready to rock. We are off in the BayerArena!

  112. 1728:

    Sami Hyypia

Talking of Hollywood, it is good to see that Sami Hyypia still carries off the blond mullet haircut. The Finn's highlighted mop is reminiscent of the one sported by swashbuckling Australian character Mick 'Crocodile' Dundee in the cult 1980s film.

Anyway, what do you make of Hyypia's start to life as a coach? And can his troops sustain their challenge against box-office draws Bayern and Borussia Dortmund?

    German Bundesliga

But Bayern earning that crucial point at Leverkusen should not be a simple task. Leverkusen, under the guidance of ex-Liverpool defensive rock Sami Hyypia, are only a point behind FC Hollywood and their leading cast of Messrs Ribery, Robben and Schweinsteiger.

Dortmund's Polish striker Robert Lewandowski reacts during his team's Bundesliga defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski cannot look as his side lose 2-0 at Borussia Monchengladbach. Dortmund started the day level on points with Bayern Munich at the top of the table but with a better goal difference.

Yet despite dominating against Monchengladbach, Jurgen Klopp's side crumbled after Mats Hummels was sent off after conceding a penalty for bringing down Max Kruse with 10 minutes to go.

Kruse picked himself up to score from the penalty spot, five minutes before Raffael sealed Monchengladbach's fourth win of the season.

  116. 1720:

Guten tag! Bayern Munich's trip to Leverkusen tops the bill in our distinctly European-flavoured show - and it promises to be a corker.

Pep Guardiola's side, fresh their ruthless dismantling of Champions League opponents Manchester City in midweek, know they can move top of the Bundesliga with a point in the BayerArena. That's because Bayern watched arch rivals Borussia Dortmund slump to their first defeat of the campaign less than an hour ago.

  117. 1717:

That's right, it has been a whopping 32 matches since any Bundesliga team has managed to halt this destructive juggernaut of a team that calls itself Bayern Munich.

Today Der FCB are aiming to chalk up their 33rd outing without defeat - just three short of equalling the German top-flight record set by Hamburg in 1983. And who is trying to stop them? Yep, you've guessed it - only their old foes Bayer Leverkusen.

  118. 1715:
    Bayern Munich 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen

Let's rewind to 28 October 2012. It was a time when things were vastly different for Bayern Munich. They weren't the European champions. They weren't the German champions. In fact, they weren't the champions of anything. And current boss Pep Guardiola was simply a twinkle in the Bayern chairman's roving eye.

On that crisp autumnal day in Bavaria, Bayern suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen. And they have not been beaten in the Bundesliga since...
