Arsenal Ladies striker Ellen White hopes they can make up for missing out on the Women's Super League title by lifting the Continental Cup.
Arsenal meet Lincoln Ladies in the final at The Hive on Friday evening.
"It would be a massive consolation. We want to put that heartache of not winning the league behind us and win this cup final," White told
"We are all proud to be in the final and it is always an amazing feeling to win something."
Arsenal had won the league for nine years in a row but missed out this season as
Liverpool Ladies beat Bristol Academy to take the title.
Lincoln out to shock Arsenal in Cup final
"We haven't won the domestic league for the first time in about 10 years, which feels a little strange, but all credit to Liverpool and Bristol," the 24-year-old added.
"It has been difficult at times but we started the second half of the season well and scored a lot of goals.
"Ultimately we have
won the FA Cup,
got through to the semi-finals of the Champions League and are in the Continental Cup final so we have done pretty well by our standards.
"If we put in a good performance it will be good going into the Champions League as well."
Arsenal have won the Continental Cup in each of the last two seasons and progressed to the final after
beating Everton 4-0 in August.
White hopes they can add to May's triumph over Bristol in the FA Cup but is wary they have not beaten Lincoln this season.
"Winning the FA Cup was amazing and to win another trophy would be fantastic," White said.
"We'd love to win but it will be a difficult game. We haven't beaten Lincoln this season and we need to be in the right mindset.
"They are a very organised team and it will be difficult. If we come out all guns blazing like I know we should hopefully we will get the win."
