Karl Darlow: Nottingham Forest goalkeeper signs new contract

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow has signed a four-year contract.

The 22-year-old has become manager Billy Davies' first-choice keeper, despite the summer signing of the experienced Dorus De Vries.

He has started all three league games and kept three clean sheets as Forest have gone top of the Championship.

"Having come through the youth team I'm delighted to extend my deal further. I have a great passion for the club," Darlow told BBC East Midlands Today.

"The manager has shown faith in me. When he came in last season he stuck with me and this season he has made me his number one.

"I am delighted he has happy with what I am doing and I just want to carry on."

Davies said: "He has earned his contract. His performances have been first class, but he has to be on his toes because of the competition below him."

Darlow, who spent time on loan with Walsall last term, only signed a three-year deal at the City Ground last October.
