Newport County battled to a draw amid torrential rain at Dagenham and Redbridge in League Two.

The visitors went ahead when Chris Zebroski profited from Christian Jolley's defensive work ethic.

Jolley chased back to win possession before setting off back up-field to give Zebroski his chance.

The Daggers struck back when new signing Zavon Hines's chip allowed Abu Ogogo to bundle the ball into the back of the net off his knee.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Newport boss Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Wales: "You come to a tough place like Dagenham and Redbridge and you'd have always looked to grab a point.

"But I think the way we started the game and the way we dominated the first half - I just felt if we'd got that second goal we could have put the game to bed.

"But unfortunately it didn't come.

"We must have brought the rain up with us from Wales. It was testing."
