Swindon Town to appoint permanent manager 'next week'
Swindon Town caretaker manager Mark Cooper has said a decision on his future will be made next week.
Cooper has been in charge since Kevin MacDonald left on 12 July and has led the Robins to two wins out of their opening three games.
"The situation will be resolved early next week," Cooper told BBC Wiltshire.
Cooper's managerial career
- Aug 2004- Jan 2007 Tamworth
- May 2007- Nov 2009 Kettering
- Nov 2009- Feb 2010 Peterborough
- June 2010- Oct 2011 Darlington
- Jan 2012 Kettering (caretaker)
- Jan-March 2013 AFC Telford United
- March 2013 - present Swindon (assistant and caretaker)
"I don't think you ever take anything for granted in football. As soon as you get too comfortable, you know what's round the corner."
When he was given the caretaker role, Cooper indicated that he wanted to remain at Swindon regardless of whether he was given the job on a permanent basis .
The former Tamworth, Kettering, Peterborough and Darlington boss resigned as manager of non-league Telford in March to join MacDonald's backroom team at the County Ground.
Since the competitive season began, Swindon have played one and lost one in League One and secured a place in the second round of the League Cup with a 1-0 win over Torquay.
