Southend have made their best start to a season in 23 years thanks to a comfortable victory against 10-man Northampton Town.
Roy O'Donovan's penalty was saved by home keeper Daniel Bentley early on, and it was all downhill from there.
Chris Hackett was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 22nd minute, before Anthony Straker headed in his first goal for the Shrimpers.
Freddy Eastwood added the second with an angled strike from 12 yards out.
Southend have won their opening three games in League Two and sit second in the table, behind Oxford United on goal difference.

Southend United assistant manager Dave Penney told BBC Essex:
"We're absolutely delighted with the start we've had. We've had three wins and three clean sheets to build on. It couldn't have gone much better.
"The players have worked their socks off from day one of pre-season and I think that shows and they get the rewards for it.
"We're not creating as many clear-cut chances as we would like. If you are being hyper-critical, we probably should have got three or four (goals).
"These feelings you get after winning games, you've got to keep them as long as you can and keep the momentum going."
Northampton Town manager Aidy Boothroyd told BBC Radio Northampton:
"It's a very poor result. I very much thought we'd come and get something today. The players are coming back (from injury) but key events change games, don't they?
"Roy O'Donovan will score plenty of goals for us, I've got no doubt about that. I'll not point fingers. Unlike him, he misses it.
"Chris Hackett is a terrific player for us. I just thought he was very, very naïve today.
"We've got to start picking up some points away from home. Relying on your home form is not good enough."
