Portsmouth's Bondz N'Gala says he is hoping for an extended stay at Fratton Park after making his debut in the League Cup defeat by Bournemouth.
The 23-year-old defender
signed just before the start of the season
on an initial one-month contract.
"I would definitely love to make it longer," N'Gala told BBC Radio Solent.
"It's a great club. The atmosphere at home on the first day of the season was incredible. It's a well-run club and it's bigger than the league it's in."
Pompey were beaten
1-0 by the Cherries
on Tuesday but N'Gala says the defeat was a huge improvement on their
4-1 loss to Oxford United
at the weekend.
And the former Stevenage player believes it was a performance that the team and himself can build from.
"I thought our spirit and defending were fantastic and a big improvement from Saturday and I think we can push on and get three points on Saturday," he added.
"I've been keeping myself fit and working quite hard over the summer and I'm pleased to come through the half unscathed.
"It is difficult and I always kept the faith (he would be signed). I know I'm good enough to play in the Football League and I'm glad the opportunity came."
