Alvaro Negredo: Manchester City eye £24m-rated Sevilla striker
Manchester City are interested in signing Sevilla's Spain striker Alvaro Negredo as the replacement for Carlos Tevez after he moved to Juventus.
Negredo, 27, is rated at around £24m but City are hoping for a cheaper deal.
Atletico Madrid were looking to capture Negredo, but new City manager Manuel Pellegrini has identified him as the forward to fill the gap left by Tevez.

However, Sevilla said on Monday that they have not received any offer for the player.
Speaking at the presentation of new Sevilla signing Nico Pareja, president Jose Maria del Nido said there had been no change with respect to Negredo's situation.
"There hasn't been any communication between the English club and Spanish club, and Negredo is training with his team-mates and has three more years on his contract," he added.
"There hasn't been any offer from Manchester City."
Everton and West Ham had recently registered interest, but the striker proved too expensive for both clubs.
Fernandinho and Jesus Navas have already arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk and Sevilla this summer as City strengthen the squad that relinquished the Premier League title to Manchester United last season.
Manchester City have also been linked with Benfica's Oscar Cardozo as they try to bolster their attacking options after also selling Mario Balotelli to AC Milan in January.
Sergio Aguero has agreed a long-term deal at the Etihad, while it is believed Pellegrini is keen to work closely with Edin Dzeko - who struggled under his predecessor Roberto Mancini last season - before making a decision on the Bosnian's long-term future.
