Gareth Evans agrees Fleetwood Town contract extension

Gareth Evans has agreed a new two-year contract at League Two side Fleetwood.

The 25-year-old joined in January on a short-term deal following his release by Rotherham.

The former Macclesfield and Bradford winger featured 16 times under Graham Alexander, scoring his solitary goal against Dagenham and Redbridge.

"I'm delighted to finally put pen to paper. The manager is going to put his stamp on things and I'm pleased he has given me this opportunity," Evans said.

"It's really is worth the wait because I already know what Fleetwood Town is all about. I really wanted to stay here and I'm glad I have the next two years here working under the manager."

"I've tasted League Two football with Fleetwood and it's now time to make sure we go one better in terms of some of our results."
