Laurence Wilson signs one-year Accrington Stanley contract

Versatile left-sided player Laurence Wilson has signed a new one-year contract at Accrington.

The 26-year-old joined Stanley in January and made 19 appearances for the club in the second half of the season.

Wilson previously had spells with Chester, Morecambe and Rotherham before moving to the Store First Stadium.

He is the first player to commit his future to the League Two side since ex-England striker James Beattie was appointed as manager on Monday.

"I had a good chat with the gaffer and [assistant manager] Paul Stevenson and am delighted to sign up," Wilson, who can play at full-back or in midfield, told the club website.

"We had a great end to last season and I am really excited about what we can do next year."
