Jersey captain Luke Watson has been named in the island squad for Saturday's Muratti against Guernsey.
looked set to miss the clash due to hernia and groin problems,
but has been named by manager Craig Culkin.
Ben Gallichan and Jamie Savory, who both impressed in the Uefa Regions' Cup earlier this season, are added to the squad from the side which lost to Middlesex Wanderers last Saturday.
The big surprise in the squad is the inclusion of Luke Watson, just days after Craig Culkin told me "we don't feel it's worth the risk".
Watson was a superb leader in the recent Uefa Regions' Cup in San Marino and netted in the Muratti semi-final so it's a big boost.
Ben Gallichan and Jamie Savory both have the skills, pace and neat footwork to cause Guernsey trouble if they can get in behind the defensive line.
The Greens will surely be strong favourites on Saturday, with the extra bonus of home advantage, but this is a promising Jersey squad who will travel in the belief they can win back the Vase.
But veteran striker Ross Crick, Matt Rondel and Craig Fletcher drop out.
Goalkeeper Fletcher is replaced by St Brelade's stopper Jonny Willows, who makes his first ever Muratti squad after an impressive season with the newly-promoted parish side.
Veteran midfielder Peter Grierson, 43, also makes a Muratti return, 20 years after his last appearance for the island side against Guernsey.
Jersey are hoping to avenge
last season's 2-0 loss to Guernsey,
but face a Sarnian side which has helped Guernsey FC
gain promotion to the Isthmian League
and reach the
FA Vase semi-finals.
Jersey Muratti squad:
Jimmy Styles, Jonny Willows, James Scott, Jack Cannon, Luke McGlone, Luke Campbell, Chris Andrews, Luke Watson, Jack Boyle, Jamie Mourant, Peter Grierson, Aaron Parkinson, Jay Giles, Rupert Murray, Daryl Wilson, Jamie Savory, Ben Gallichan, Pierce Cummins.
