English clubs not run in fans' interest - Hans-Joachim Watzke

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke says a "clash of cultures" exists between English and German clubs - with English clubs having "an owner mentality" and not being run in their fans' interest.

Speaking to BBC sports editor David Bond, Watzke says German clubs are "more democratic" with fans feeling more of a part of their club.

Football in Germany has recently made the headlines after the Champions League semi-final first-legs, when Bayern Munich beat Barcelona 4-0 while Dortmund won 4-1 against Real Madrid.

David Bond's film on how English football has changed will be shown on BBC News: The Editors on BBC One, Monday 29 April at 23:25 BST.
