Jack Lester scored a brace in the final game of his 19-year playing career to help Chesterfield beat Exeter City.
James O'Shea opened the scoring with a sublime 25-yard strike that found the top corner before a Marc Richards header doubled the lead.
Lester added a penalty and then found the bottom corner from inside the area to make it 4-0.
Lester, 37, who signed his first professional deal in 1994, played a total of 640 games in his career.
Lester spent six years at Grimsby before moving to Nottingham Forest for £300,000 in 2000.
He went on to play for Sheffield United before going back to Forest in 2004 and moved to Chesterfield in 2007.
The result sees both teams finish in the top 10.

"Football is a funny one, you don't know where you're going to end up, how long you're going to play for.
"Someone asked me if I had any regrets, I could never regret coming here.
"I have an amazing time at all my clubs, each and everyone one of them has been fantastic."
