Fleetwood Town's home season ended with a disappointing defeat to Chesterfield.
The Cod Army were made to pay for a number of wasted chances as Armand Gnanduillet put the visitors ahead with a close-range header.
Marc Richards doubled the Spireites' lead in first-half stoppage time with a powerful 25-yard strike before making it 3-0 with a left-foot shot.
Andy Mangan's shot pulled one back but Chesterfield held on, although they cannot make the play-offs.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Chesterfield assistant manager Tommy Wright told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"It's over a season and we've just fallen short.
"The players are good enough but we haven't scored enough goals throughout the season.
"Give the players credit, all we could do was win today and we did.
"It's a shame because overall, being honest, it's a really disappointing season."
