Plymouth Argyle moved a step closer to securing their Football League survival after winning 2-1 at manager John Sheridan's former club Chesterfield.
Joe Bryan's fine curling shot gave the Pilgrims the lead before Curtis Nelson doubled the advantage from close range.
Chesterfield were given a lifeline through Guy Branston's own goal but they could not break down Argyle.
Plymouth need one more win to secure League football while Chesterfield's play-off hopes took a blow.
The Spireites must win their final two matches and hope Bradford fail to win both of their remaining two games if they are to have a chance of making the play-offs.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Chesterfield manager Paul Cook tells BBC Radio Sheffield:
"We speak all day about preparation, preparation and players don't turn up.
"We can't win every game, I've got no issues with getting beat, but you turn up.
"Good teams don't always win, don't always play well, but a game like that, which is the biggest game of our season, by a million miles. Our players knew how important that game was.
"I'm physically sick that we rolled over and just wilted."
