Substitute Cleveland Taylor's injury-time goal rescued a point for Grimsby as they drew at home to Southport.
The visitors went ahead when Karl Ledsham slotted home from close range.
Grimsby hit back when Andy Cook pounced on a half-cleared corner to drill a 25-yard effort into the bottom corner.
Ledsham notched his second after converting Shaun Whalley's cross from six yards before Taylor got on the end of a Lenell John-Lewis cross to slam into the bottom corner from 12 yards.
The result means Grimsby remain fifth and in the final play-off place in Blue Square Bet Premier.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Grimsby Town joint-manager Paul Hurst told BBC Radio Humberside:
"It's a great point. Look at the other results, in particular Forest Green. In the context of the game and where we are at, it has to be seen as a point gained.
"Perhaps playing away from home as I suggested recently is helping the team.
"We need to try and get that monkey off the back and play with a little more freedom.
"We need everyone to be a man and stand up, be brave, hunt the ball, do the job and work hard because it's certainly more noticeable if you hide away or perhaps don't make the runs or close people down."
