There will be plenty more reaction to come on the BBC Sport website as we get the full lowdown from Rafael Benitez. Stay tuned, and join us back here at the weekend for all your live fix. See you there.

  2. 2223:
BBC Radio 5 live presenter Mark Pougatch

"This seems like a rare occasion when the fans have won."

  3. 2220:

Rafa Benitez also told supporters it's vital they get behind the players, because it is important that Chelsea reach the Champions League next season.

  4. 2218:

Pretty explosive stuff from Rafael Benitez then. I've not heard him that angry for a long time! He confirms that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season as well.

  5. 2216:
    MANAGER REACTION- Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea
    Rafael Benitez

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez: "I'm disappointed with some fans. They have to support the team instead of wasting time making banners.

"They have to support the team. They gave me the title of interim manager which is a massive mistake. I am the manager and I will manage this club. The fans are not helping us.

"I am a professional and I will do my job. At the end of the season I will leave."

  6. 2212:

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez on the club's supporters: "They are wasting time with their banners and songs. They don't need to worry about me. I leave at end of the season"

  7. 2204:

We've got reaction from Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez coming up...

  8. 2202:
    Dennis Bergkamp

Arsenal fans may have not had too much to get excited about on the signing front of late but they are making some progress at the Emirates.

They have announced plans for a statue of Dennis Bergkamp at the stadium. The Dutch master.

  9. 2157:

Arj, Manchester: "Next season we have to get rid of Mikel and nurture Chalobah, McEachran and Ake. One of them has the chance to become a mainstay of our midfield for years."

  10. 2155:

We now know the last eight of the FA Cup.

    Everton v Wigan

    Man City v Barnsley

    Millwall v Blackburn

    Man Utd v Chelsea

Who are we making favourites for that one then?

  11. 2148:
    FULL-TIME- PSG 2-0 Marseille

The Village People's version of "Go West" is the strange choice of full-time music at the Parc des Princes. Job well done for David Beckham and PSG.

  12. 2143:
    SUBSTITUTION- PSG 2-0 Marseille

Into the last few moments in Paris. David Beckham has lasted 86 minutes before being replaced by Christophe Jallet.

  13. 2142:
    FULL-TIME- Bradford 1-1 Dagenham & Redbridge

Ian Woodcock reports from Valley Parade: "It has finished honours even here. Luke Howell gave the visitors the lead before James Hanson tapped home from close in late on. The result leaves the hosts 10 points outside the play-offs with three games in hand on seventh-placed Cheltenham. Managerless Dagenham & Redbridge remain in midtable."

  14. 2142:

Charlie in Leamington Spa: "Chelsea have a really good prospect in Nathan Ake. He shares a lot of David Luiz's qualities but looks more disciplined and mature off the ball than Luiz. Very good debut."

Dom Underhill at the Marsh: "Nathan Ake is a talent. He has a bright future ahead of him, no doubt."

  15. 2140:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea

Former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley: "Comfortable in the end for Chelsea but for me they laboured for long periods in the game. The first goal was a bit lucky with the deflection but the Moses goal was sheer class from Hazard in the set-up. They huffed and puffed, Middlesbrough, but they lacked a bit of class and a bit of firepower in front of goal."

  16. 2140:

Brilliant finish from Sevilla winger Jesus Navas, who curls a shot in off the far post to reduce the deficit on aggregate to 4-2. Sevilla need three more - and they have 50 minutes to find them.

  17. 2140:

Motherwell move up to second in the Scottish Premier League with a 2-1 victory against leaders Celtic. St Mirren won 2-0 to consign Hearts to second bottom while the three other matches ended as draws. Three goals in four minutes lit up Hibernian's home match with Kilmarnock, with it ending 2-2. There were also four goals in the Tayside derby with Dundee and St Johnstone ending all square. No goals in Inverness, with Dundee United leaving the Highlands with a point.

  18. 2137:
    YELLOW CARD- PSG 2-0 Marseille

There's till some fight in the old dog yet. David Beckham goes down under a sliding challenge on the touchline and he then squares up to his assailant, triggering another bout of handbags. Beckham is booked for his trouble though.

  19. 2137:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea

Former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley: "It makes for a mouthwatering prospect [Man Utd v Chelsea in the next round]. Middlesbrough could have got through this one but I don't think they would have had much chance of winning at Old Trafford.

"What's the mindset like for the rest of the season for Chelsea? They're the European champions but they're out of the Champions League. They can't win the title - that is obvious. But there still a heck of a fight for the top four and FA Cup games to be won. So there has to be a desire there. It's not the time to say 'Benitez isn't the right man'. And the Europa League isn't going to be easy."

  20. 2137:

@dee_dee_why: "Given up on Torres. Only positives this year have been mata, hazard and Oscar ... End of season can't come soon enough."

@arabianofelix: "Torres needs a pitbull mentality put into his head. and needs to bulk up. He needs to find space, not close down defenders."

@tolikelis: "I'm sick of people talking negative about Torres, when other players miss clear chances nothing's said, but if Torres misses it's a tragic!"

  21. 2136:
    FULL-TIME- Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea
  22. 2134:
    INJURY TIME- Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea

Into the final minutes at the Riverside then...

  23. 2133:
    SUBSTITUTION- PSG 2-0 Marseille

Zlatan Ibrahimovic departs the scene as Ezequiel Lavezzi comes on in his place. The Swede had been copping a bit of flak in his last couple of games from some of the PSG fans. They have changed their tune. Only applause and chants of 'Ibra' for the big man as he heads for the sidelines.

  24. 2132:
Bradford 1-1 Dagenham & Redbridge - James Hanson (86 mins)

Ian Woodcock reports from Valley Parade: "James Hanson had a torrid afternoon on Sunday but he has levelled here for the hosts. Zavon Hines's cross took a couple of deflections before falling to the big striker at the back post and he tapped home from no more than a yard."

  25. 2131:
    Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Three decent chances there for the hosts, but you can see a lack of confidence in front of goal from Tony Mowbray's side."

  26. 2131:

Radamel Falcao has been just too good for many a team this season, and he is again as he outfoxes a static Sevilla defence to meet a cross from the left and sweep home powerfully with his left peg.

That makes it 4-1 on aggregate to Atletico Madrid. Put your feet up boys.

  27. 2127:

Bayern Munich are into the semi-finals of the German cup as their phenomenal season rolls on. Arjen Robben won it with a beauty as Munich saw off a spirited showing from Borussia Dortmund.

  28. 2126:
    CLOSE!- Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea

Close for Boro though! Nicky Bailey wins a header at the back stick from a corner, he powers the ball down but it's into the side-netting.

Ishmael Miller then thrashes a volley over the bar. Fine late surge from Boro...

  29. 2125:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea

Former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley: "Two good goals - the first was a deflection but the second showed Hazard at his best - like he was at the start of the season. But for long periods it's not been good from Chelsea."

  30. 2124:
    Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea

Middlesbrough substitute Merouane Zemmama lines up a free-kick from 20 yards but he gets no real power in it and Petr Cech saves with ease. It looks like the game is up for Boro as we enter the last 10 minutes.

  31. 2123:

We are into stoppage time in Munich, with the home side bringing on Mario Gomez for the final few moments. Bayern still lead 1-0.

  32. 2121:

Motherwell back in front against Celtic, Michael Higdon volleying past Fraser Forster to convert Nicky Law's teasing cross.

You can stay across all the action in our Scottish live text commentary.

  33. 2120:
    Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea
Ramires's shot for Chelsea goes in off Fernando Torres

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Eden Hazard has made a difference since coming on. Razor sharp for that Victor Moses goal with a very sweet one-two with Oscar. The Brazilian has just fired wide, too, after a fine run. Unless there is a wild change of course in this game, victory looks safe now. "

  34. 2120:

@A_ustinBob: "I have given up on Torres. Horror show. Complete shadow of his former self."

@leearnold92: "Are Arsenal putting all these statues outside the Emirates to make up for the lack of trophies?"

@benfulham: "I heard Chelsea had scored thought it was a consolation because of the negative fans on #bbcfootball. Have they tried getting behind Rafa?"

@Usama7: "An all Madrid final in Copa Del Rey and looks like an all Manchester final in the FA Cup."

  35. 2120:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea

Former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley: "When he gets on the ball like that - he's very quick on his feet, Hazard. He drove into the 18 yard box - Middlesbrough had players across it but Hazard played a lovely little one-two - he had the choice of shooting but rolled it to Moses instead."

  36. 2119:
Bradford 0-1 Dagenham & Redbridge - Luke Howell (69 mins)

Ian Woodcock reports from Valley Parade: "Dagenham & Redbridge lead here. Ben Strevens showed neat skill in the area to flick the ball back to Luke Howell, who fired a low effort into the back of the net from 18 yards out."

  37. 2118:
GOAL- PSG 2-0 Marseille - Zlatan Ibrahimovic

In true Mario Balotelli style, Zlatan Ibrahimovic keeps his eyes on the goalkeeper as he steps up to take the penalty before rolling the ball in and spreading his arms in celebration. That should be that.

  38. 2117:
PENALTY TO PSG- PSG 1-0 Marseille

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is tripped on the corner of the penalty area - and that's a spot kick all day long...

  39. 2116:
GOAL- Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea - Victor Moses (73 mins)

Chelsea substitute Eden Hazard does make the difference, streaking away from the tired Boro defence before looking up and squaring for Victor Moses to tap into the net. Brilliant from the Belgian.

  40. 2115:
    Middlesbrough 0-1 Chelsea
    Nathan Ake

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Chelsea are not flooding forward for a second, so Boro can take advantage but they haven't got going in an attacking sense this half. It should be said that Nathan Ake is covering well in midfield."

  41. 2113:

We tick into the last 10 minutes in Munich and the hosts go close to a second goal. Centre-half Dante sees his header blocked by Mario Gotze, but he wins the follow-up cleanly only to see his header tipped over by Roman Weidenfeller.

  42. 2112:
    SUBSTITUTION- Middlesbrough 0-1 Chelsea

Eden Hazard is on for Chelsea in place of Yossi Benayoun, can he provide the second goal?

  43. 2109:
    Middlesbrough 0-1 Chelsea

Midway through the second half and it's now or never time for the hosts. Chelsea have upped the tempo in this half and are looking much better.

  44. 2109:
    GREAT SAVE!- PSG 1-0 Marseille

Marseille were pretty toothless up front in the first half, but they have already gone closer than they managed in the first 45 minutes. Andre Pierre Gignac's low shot from the edge of the area demanded a sprawling save from Nicolas Douchez.

  45. 2107:
    Middlesbrough 0-1 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Chelsea looking a lot more positive now and are actually shooting, which is always a good way to score goals. Fernando Torres looks in the mood after that 'goal' which I'm told deflected in off his shoulder, following Ramires's shot."

  46. 2107:

Our final European action of the night is under way, and Atletico Madrid have wasted no time in scoring at Sevilla. Diego Costa loses his man with a deft turn before striking low into the corner.

That makes it Sevilla 1-3 Atletico on aggregate, and it is looking like an all-Madrid final on the cards.

  47. 2106:

Georgios Samaras has just headed Celtic level against Motherwell. The big Greek striker finished off a delicious cross by James Forrest.

You can stay across all the action in our Scottish live text commentary.

  48. 2104:

Javi Martinez cannons in a piledriver from 30 yards which forces Dortmund keeper Roman Weidenfeller into another very decent save. Munich pushing for a killer second goal as we enter the final 20 minutes - and former Manchester City defender Daniel van Buyten then heads wastefully over from the corner.

  49. 2104:

Kilmarnock's Sammy Clingan has tried to out-do St Mirren's Graham Carey with a 25-yard screamer at Easter Road. The midfielder's impressive strike has given Killie the advantage against Hibs while Motherwell continue to lead Celtic and St Mirren are two up versus Hearts. Dundee and St Johnstone are locked at 1-1 while it's goalless between Inverness and Dundee United.

You can stay across all the action in our Scottish live text commentary.

  50. 2103:

@venables1987: "I don't understand why managers rest players from the beginning. Get the game won then bring them off. Simple!!"

@OGIDIOMO: "Really surprised some fans are still expecting results given the players aren't playing for Rafa. Roll on the new season."

@RetroGirl: "I think being Chelsea manager has now officially overtaken being England manager as 'The Impossible Job'."

  51. 2102:
    Middlesbrough 0-1 Chelsea

Fernando Torres rolls over in midfield after a challenge - nothing given. That goal is still officially Ramires' as it stands but it may change, I'll let you know.

  52. 2100:
    KICK-OFF- PSG 1-0 Marseille

We have a restart in Paris.

  53. 2058:
    Middlesbrough 0-1 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Confusion reigns here as Fernando Torres is credited with the goal inside the stadium following Ramires' shot. Guess the Spaniard will take any sort of jammy deflection at the minute. That will be his second goal this year!"

  54. 2057:

That deflection may have come off the head of Fernando Torres - if so he will definitely be claiming that one...

  55. 2057:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough 0-1 Chelsea

Former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley: "Oscar did really well down the right-hand side to dig out a cross. Middlesbrough didn't clear it - Benayoun got it back in and Ramires' strike took a deflection. Chelsea got a stroke of luck."

  56. 2056:

Ian Woodcock reports from Valley Parade: "Huge let off for Bradford. Kyel Reid trips Daggers defender Luke Wilkinson in the box but from the resultant spot-kick Sam Williams fires his low effort two yards wide. It remains 0-0."

  57. 2053:
GOAL- Middlesbrough 0-1 Chelsea - Ramires (51 mins)

A stroke of luck which this tie needed. Yossi Benayoun's pass is hooked away by the Middlesbrough defence, Ramires hammers in a shot from range and it takes a horrid deflection to loop over Jason Steele and into the net.

  58. 2051:

Dortmund come close to a leveller as Marco Reus drags a shot across goal, before Munich counter with style and Thomas Mueller is denied a second goal for the Bundesliga leaders by the legs of Roman Weidenfeller.

Dortmund keeper Weidenfeller then has to make another flying save to keep out Toni Kroos.

  59. 2050:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea
Middlesborough's Faris Haroun (left) and Mustapha Carayol (right) tackle Nathan Ake, who is making his first start for Chelsea

Nathan Ake had a decent first 45 minutes in the Chelsea midfield, but Rafael Benitez has an arsenal of options on the bench. When does he make changes?

  60. 2049:
    KICK-OFF- Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

We are back under way at the Riverside.

  61. 2046:

Will Rider on text: "Bring on Hazard for the second half and make sure this doesn't go to a replay. He'll end the game."

  62. 2044:
    HALF-TIME- PSG 1-0 Marseille
Paris Saint-Germain's Jeremy Menez (left) and David Beckham (right) compete with Marseille's Joey Barton

The tackles have been flying in a typically tetchy tie, but it's 1-0 at the break thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's powerful finish.

  63. 2041:

We are back under way in Munich. Can Dortmund turn this one around?

  64. 2041:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Not a great night for Rafael Benitez so far, summed up by a comedy moment before the break. The crowd were quiet enough so you could hear the Chelsea interim manager instructing Petr Cech to hit the left wing from a goal kick. Except the Czech keeper whacks it straight out of play. Coaches, eh, what do they know?"

  65. 2040:
    PSG 1-0 Marseille

The temperature is rising in Paris. First Alaixys Romao's tackle on David Beckham signals a brief bit of all-in shoving and pushing. The next confrontation is a meeting of minds. Joey Barton felt that there was a hint of elbow in his clash with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and tells the Swedish superstar, with the help of big gestures, that he has a sizeable nose by way of revenge. Conk city.

  66. 2038:

@christonation: "Nice to see nothing has changed... Beckham is still class, Barton is still playing his own Football/Wrestling hybrid."

‏@RobShenksz: "Fernando Torres looks so lethargic when playing for Chelsea, a shadow of the electric movement he once showed."

@_IAmJoshlar: "I'd love to be in that dressing room myself at HT, would give those Chelsea players more than the hairdryer treatment!"

  67. 2037:
BBC Radio 5 liveMddlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley: "It was a boring performance from Chelsea and not much else from Middlesbrough - who are on a poor run anyway. Eight changes from Chelsea and you can see it - they're very pedantic, didn't really create a chance. Benitez once again has got something to do."

  68. 2037:

Ian Woodcock reports from Valley Parade: "After a lively opening the game has lost a bit of cohesion and we head in at the break 0-0. Bradford have had the better of it but some last-ditch defending from the Daggers and a couple of wayward shots from the hosts mean it remains scoreless. Dagenham & Redbridge have threatened themselves though and they'll feel they have a chance here."

  69. 2036:

League leaders Celtic are trailing at Fir Park after Chris Humphrey's tap-in gave Motherwell a half-time lead in the SPL. St Mirren's Graham Carey scored a stunning long-range drive to double the Paisley side's lead against struggling Hearts. It's goalless between Hibs and Kilmarnock and Inverness and Dundee United, while Dundee have battled back to 1-1 against St Johnstone at the break.

You can stay across all the action in our Scottish live text commentary.

  70. 2034:
    HALF-TIME- Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Middlesbrough are growing in confidence here and their biggest threat appears to be down the flanks via Mustapha Carayol and Faris Haroun. Chelsea look dangerous on the break, but have hardly tested Boro keeper Jason Steele. This tie is there for the taking. Does no-one fancy a trip to Old Trafford in the next round?"

  71. 2031:
GOAL- PSG 1-0 Marseille - Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Terrific centre-forward play from Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He runs on to a David Beckham-esque pass from the halfway line from Clement Chantome, bulldozes his way past a defender before powering in a shot which goes in at the far post.

  72. 2030:

Andy in Stockport: "Is Abramovich short of a few quid? As Chelsea seem to be playing for a 'money-spinning' replay."

Leon in Earlsfield: "From Champions League winners to a mediocre team with overpaid superstars and a manager who is clueless."

  73. 2028:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Middlesbrough can grab hold of this tie if they want to. Petr Cech, who must be the coldest player on the pitch, made a right hash of that Mustapha Carayol shot, just a pity no-one was there for the follow-up."

  74. 2027:
    PSG 0-0 Marseille

David Beckham and Joey Barton have a brief coming-together over a loose ball in midfield. There is little in their shoulder-to-shoulder encounter but the referee awards the free-kick the way of Beckham. Beckham winds up his right foot from a decent position shortly after, his cross is miscontrolled by Kevin Gameiro though and the chance has gone.

  75. 2025:
    GREAT SAVE!- Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Best moment yet for the hosts as winger Mustapha Carayol cuts inside and fires in a dipping shot which Petr Cech just about shovels clear, John Terry is then able to stab the ball away before a Boro boot can get there. Into the last few minutes of the first half.

  76. 2024:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Funny. Oscar just surged down the left, found himself one on one with Andre Bikey, looked at the difference in physiques and practically gave the Boro defender the ball. Bikey is injured now though, and has been replaced by Seb Hines. The Brazilian must have super powers I'm unaware of."

  77. 2024:
    PSG 0-0 Marseille

The best player on the the pitch in the first 20 minutes at the Parc des Princes has not been one of the glitziest PSG signings. Instead Netherlands international Gregory van der Wiel, signed from Ajax for a reported 6m euros in September, has outshone the likes of David Beckham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic with plenty of dart and life down the right.

  78. 2023:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

It's all a bit flat at the Riverside. Middlesbrough are having more of the game now after that dodgy opening 15 minutes.

  79. 2022:

@_IAmJoshlar: "In Rafa we do not trust!!! If we get dumped out of the FA Cup tonight that will be the final straw!!!"

@observering: "It doesn't matter who Benitez picks - you wouldn't bet on Chelsea to win any game at the moment. big problems at the Bridge."

@AlexIrvine4: "We have been very successful in the FA Cup but I think we would be better off out of it this year; we need Champions League."

  80. 2021:
    Arjen Robben

That belter from Arjen Robben means it's Bayern Munich 1-0 Borussia Dortmund at half-time of the cup tie. Munich marching on.

  81. 2019:

A beauty from Arjen Robben puts Bayern Munich ahead against Borussia Dortmund. Robben seizes upon a loose clearance 25 yards out, takes one touch to get the ball on to his left foot before clipping a delicious shot right into the top corner, giving Roman Weidenfeller no chance at all. Gareth Bale will like that one.

  82. 2018:
    PSG 0-0 Marseille

PSG are starting to show what all that Qatari money can buy as they wrestle their way on top against Marseille. Zlatan Ibrahimovic slices thin air when he should have done better before Jeremy Menez's shot is blocked by a last-ditch covering challenge by a defender.

  83. 2015:

Bayern Munich are well on top and former Chelsea man Arjen Robben should do better, collecting a ball on his instep before poking a shot over the top under pressure. Into the last five minutes of the first half at the Allianz.

  84. 2015:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Decent work by Faris Haroun on the right-wing led to that Scott McDonald header. Left-back George Friend has made a few decent forays on the other flank too. Tony Mowbray will be happy with this start by his team, but there are a few fans around me shouting 'Get it in the box'."

  85. 2012:

Lovely technique from Bayern midfielder Javi Martinez, running on to a lofted pass to smash in a volley which Roman Weidenfeller saves. Still goalless in the cup tie.

  86. 2011:
    CLOSE!- Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Ramires gives the ball away sloppily, and it leads to a good chance for Middlesbrough. The ball is moved out to the right wing and when the cross gets pinged in, Scott McDonald gets there but heads wide of the far corner.

  87. 2010:

Jonny in Leeds on text: "If Boro can stay in the game until the 60th minute we'll have a chance to sneak a goal, or take it to a replay at theirs. Come on Boro stars, Roar..!"

  88. 2008:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Andre Bikey giving Fernando Torres a hefty nudge by the sideline, but every time the Spaniard gets a run on the Boro centre-backs he looks far quicker and that has happened a few times already. That said, Boro just starting to enjoy a bit more possession now."

  89. 2007:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Goals, chances, even shots are at a premium so far. It's a scrappy and subdued game so far.

  90. 2006:
    PSG 0-0 Marseille
David Beckham warms up for PSG

David Beckham has picked up a deep central midfield position, clearly hoping to spray the ball about. The former England captain is a little over-eager with his first pass however, sending over the sidelines on the full. Joey Barton has just seen Beckham's team-mate Kevin Gameiro skip past him with relative ease as well. The English need to up their game after the first five minutes.

  91. 2006:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley: "Scrappy game so far - Chelsea with lots of changes - Middlesbrough are not in great form but sensing a chance to do something in front of a home crowd."

  92. 2005:

Nice open game at Bradford so far. Rory McArdle came close to giving the hosts the lead when he blazed over from eight yards out before Dagenam & Redbridge forward Medy Elito's powerful effort was touched on to the bar by Bantams keeper Jon McLaughlin at the other end.

  93. 2004:
Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger in action against Dortmund

There's just shy of half an hour gone at the Allianz where Bayern Munich remain in the ascendancy. Dortmund are content to hit them on the break, with Marco Reus and Mario Gotze looking as dangerous as ever.

  94. 2002:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Must be close to being one of Middlesbrough's biggest crowds of season. Near to 26,000 tickets sold before kick-off and save for the end next to the Chelsea fans, the stadium is almost full. Boro fans haven't had much to shout about yet, but every time the hosts cross the half-way line, there is a roar of anticipation."

  95. 2002:

Only one goal so far in the SPL, with Paul McGowan converting a penalty for St Mirren after Hearts' Darren Barr had fouled Lee Mair. All other games - four of them - are goalless.

You can stay across all the action in our Scottish live text commentary.

  96. 1958:

@DavidSimon0: "You could tell by the performance against City the players aren't performing for Rafa, same as AVB, very unprofessional of them."

@observering: "The sooner Rafa goes the sooner the next manager can come in. Whatever happens between now, Benitez is a goner."

@LFASoccerSchool: "Chelsea fans/media moaning about Benitez team selection tonight. Way off mark! Far superior team will smash Boro by 3+ goals."

  97. 1958:
    KICK-OFF- PSG 0-0 Marseille

David Beckham emerges from the dressing room and is handed his first starting PSG jersey, which he pulls over his head as he waits for the teams to step out on the Parc des Princes turf. Some jazzy 80s stylings are pumping through the stadium speakers as the teams press pre-match flesh and then pose for a nice collective photo with the two sets of players all mingled together.

    And we are away...

  98. 1957:
    CLOSE!- Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Best chance of the game so far as Victor Moses dances away from the defence and pulls the ball back for Oscar, who toe-pokes his shot tamely on goal. He should have done better.

  99. 1957:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley: "I'm going to keep an eye on Torres tonight - he owes this team a performance. Rafa Benitez has been steadfast in praise of the Spaniard but a lot of his goals this season have come when Chelsea were already winning."

  100. 1956:
    Didier Drogba

Uefa has rejected protests by German side Schalke over Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba's eligibility for the Champions League.

The two sides recently played out a 1-1 draw. But had the complaint been upheld, Schalke would have been awarded the match 3-0.

  101. 1955:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Better from Fernando Torres, who whips in a low cross but his former Liverpool team-mate Yossi Benayoun is not on the same channel and the ball runs loose. Chelsea on top in the opening stages.

  102. 1953:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

Victor Moses almost gets on the end of a good Chelsea counter-attack but he can't quite reach it. Nathan Ake has made a bright start in the heart of the Chelsea midfield.

  103. 1951:

From Adam, Chelsea fan in London: "I think it'll be really stupid to get rid of Benitez before the end of the season. We're already a laughing stock for sacking Di Matteo. Give him till the end of the season and then the players can dust themselves down and start afresh with a new manager next season."

Jack, Kenilworth: "Torres hattrick tonight, you heard it here first!"

Rick in Halifax: "As Chelsea fans we hold the FA Cup dear to our hearts, in Rafa we do NOT trust."

  104. 1951:
    Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan at the Riverside Stadium: "Great atmosphere with Boro fans making plenty of noise with added drums for effect. Chelsea's Nathan Ake is sitting in deep-lying midfield position alongside Ramires, with Victor Moses right and Yossi Benayoun left."

  105. 1949:

First real chance in Munich as a shot is parried out into the path of Toni Kroos, but the Bayern midfielder can't steer his effort on target and it flies wide. Big let-off for Dortmund.

  106. 1947:
BBC Radio 5 live commentator Alan Green at the RiversideMiddlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

"From a distance, Nathan Ake looks a lot like Ruud Gullit. He's only 18 so I won't put that burden on him, He can't be that good..."

  107. 1945:
    KICK-OFF- Middlesbrough 0-0 Chelsea

    We are away...

  108. 1944:

Ian Woodcock reports from Valley Parade: "Slightly unusual sight with the Dagenham & Redbridge players and staff forming a guard of honour for the Bradford as they walk on to the pitch. Lots (if not quite all) of the Bantams fans have brought their League Cup final flags with them and they roar the team on to the pitch.

"Despite the nature of Sunday's defeat there is no shortage of pride in this side."

  109. 1941:

Continuing our cosmopolitan theme, over in Italy Lazio say they have been ordered to play their next two home games in European competition behind closed doors after their fans were again found guilty of racist behaviour by Uefa.

"Two games behind closed doors, it's incredible," Lazio president Claudio Lotito told Italian broadcaster Rai.

  110. 1937:

It's kicked off between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, which looks like a belting atmosphere. I saw Dortmund tear Manchester City to shreds in the Champions League earlier this season but they have been left for dead in the Bundesliga by Bayern. Two very good sides on display.

  111. 1936:
Former Hull manager Phil Brown on BBC World Service

"It looks like Benitez is having off-field battles which he is losing.

"It is difficult for a manager because you have to answer questions every day. It is really difficult for him but if Boro beat Chelsea tonight - which they can do - then it could be the end."

  112. 1935:

Rob, London on text: "Roman's high stakes Manager Roulette wheel could be about to spin again... In Rafa, we win or bust..."

  113. 1930:

Ian Woodcock reports: "Back to reality for Bradford. Sunday's League Cup final thrashing by Swansea is still on the lips of all Bantams fans but the time for dissecting that performance has gone. Phil Parkinson's men are 11 points behind seventh-placed Cheltenham with four matches in hand. The League Two play-offs are still there to be reached but they must improve on their form in 2013 so far - they've won just two of 11 matches this calendar year.

"They make six changes to the side so comprehensively swept aside by the Swans at the weekend.

"Meanwhile Dagenham are starting life without manager John Still, who left for Luton on Tuesday. Caretaker Wayne Burnett names the same 11 that lost 1-0 at home to struggling AFC Wimbledon on Saturday."

  114. 1930:
    Middlesbrough v Chelsea (1945 GMT)

Alistair Magowan reports: "Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has said his side will stick to its tried and tested passing methods despite sliding out of the Championship play-off positions recently. The FA Cup offers his side a brief respite, with Mowbray saying in his programme notes that his team must 'make it a high-tempo game'. This is Chelsea's fifth game in two weeks and with a packed fixture list to come, the Blues' worst scenario would be a replay."

  115. 1930:

Rachael Crowson: "I wouldn't use that Chelsea line up on FIFA, never mind in real life..."

Rupert Stonehill: "Good Luck Nathan Ake. First Chelsea Start. Awesome barnet. Incredible pace. Quality for an 18 year old."

  116. 1923:
    PSG v Marseille (1955 GMT)

David Beckham's place in Carlo Ancelotti's starting line-up is assured after with the Parisiens' 20-year-old Italian figurehead Marco Verratti suspended. Two other of PSG's expensive new midfield arrivals swap positions with Jeremy Menez taking the place of the unwell Lucas Moura. Marseille coach Elie Baup has been pointing out possession counts and shot tallies that suggest his side deserved more than a 2-0 defeat in the teams' meeting on Sunday. Let's see if they can change the most important statistic tonight.

  117. 1923:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough v Chelsea (1945 GMT)

Former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley on BBC Radio 5 Live on Rafa Benitez's reported 'bust-up' with John Terry: "We're talking about people getting paid vast amounts of money to go out and win. If it wasn't happening I'd be more worried if I'm honest. I think the newspapers are making more of it but I do think John Terry is coming to the end of his career at Chelsea."

  118. 1922:

Leigh in Devon on text: "It could be all over for Benitez tonight with that team selection - just hope he takes Torres with him."

Mark a Chelsea fan in Wantage: "I've got a maths exam tomorrow. I was torn between watching the game and revising. Thanks to Benitez's team selection it's an easy choice! It's like he still hates us from his Anfield days and intent on destroying us from the inside."

  119. 1919:
Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund (1930 GMT)

With their league title defence all but over, Real Madrid got a measure of revenge by knocking runaway leaders Barcelona out of the Cope del Rey last night. Borussia Dortmund will know how they feel at the Bernabeu. Juergen Klopp's much-hyped young side have been blown away by Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season, but have a chance to get one over their rivals in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup. Bayern may also have revenge on their mind though. Jupp Heynckes' side were hammered 5-1 in the final of last year's competition by Dortmund. Winner takes all in this season's Champions League final chaps?

  120. 1918:
Former England defender Danny Mills on BBC World Service

"We talk about managers losing the dressing room before they leave a club, but I'm not sure that Rafa Benitez has ever had the Chelsea dressing room.

"You need respect from your players and it simply has not worked for him.

"We know there is massive player power at Chelsea and you have to be able to manage that and deal with it. At the moment that hasn't been the case with Benitez."

  121. 1916:

Rafael Benitez was forced to deny reports of a bust-up after the defeat at Manchester City on Sunday, but how are feelings in the Chelsea camp?

  122. 1915:
    Middlesbrough v Chelsea (1945 GMT)

Alistair Magowan reports from the Riverside: "Rafael Benitez rings the changes for Chelsea with one eye on the West Brom game next weekend. Only three players who faced Manchester City last Sunday start tonight. Among the additions are John Terry, Fernando Torres and Dutch teenager Nathan Ake who gets his first Chelsea start. Paulo Ferreira makes his first start of the season. Middlesbrough make three changes to the team which lost to Millwall. Two are enforced with Josh McEachran and Kieron Dyer cup-tied. In come Scott McDonald, Mustapha Carayol and Faris Haroun."

  123. 1915:

George Thomas: "Very much looking forward to seeing Ake tonight, heard good things."

Dean Cameron: "Wait, Benayoun is chosen over Marin?!? For being such a quality player, Marin doesn't get enough starts as it is!"

  124. 1912:

After Ross County moved third in the SPL by beating Aberdeen last night, the picture could change again with five more fixtures this evening.

Runaway leaders Celtic visit Motherwell while John Brown takes charge of bottom club Dundee for the first time against St Johnstone.

St Mirren and Hearts have a dress rehearsal of next month's League Cup final in Paisley while second-place Inverness take on Dundee United.

You can stay across all the action in our Scottish live text commentary.

  125. 1910:
    Middlesbrough v Chelsea (1945 GMT)

Paulo Ferreira last started a game last May, by the way, in a 4-1 defeat at Anfield. Just how many managers has he played under at the Bridge?

  126. 1909:

Real Madrid were in ominously-good counter-attacking touch as they won 3-1 at Barcelona last night to book a place in the Copa del Rey final.

Manchester United take note. Can they stop former head boy Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford next week?

  127. 1906:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough v Chelsea (1945 GMT)

Former Middlesbrough midfielder Craig Hignett on BBC Radio 5 live: "Middlesbrough aren't having a great run, they have only won one in their last nine league games so they are on a dodgy run themselves, but I think it is a good chance for them to put their league form to one side, not worry about getting three points and have a really good go tonight.

"The league has been disappointing for Boro, they look like they are lacking in confidence in league matches and a good result against Chelsea could boost their confidence and get them back on the right track. They have slipped out of the play-off places for the first time all season, so a good result tonight could turn their season around. "

  128. 1905:

Sam on text via 81111: "Bit of a weakened team for Chelsea, What do we have to lose? There's an opening there, we have an attacking side and if we get at them, anything is possible."

  129. 1904:
BREAKING TEAM NEWS- PSG v Marseille (1955 GMT)

Confirmation that David Beckham starts for Paris St-Germain, along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

  130. 1901:
    Middlesbrough v Chelsea (1945 GMT)

Alistair Magowan reports from Riverside Stadium: "As the sun sets on a beautiful day in the north-east you can still see snow in the North Yorkshire Moors, but bad relations are yet to thaw for Chelsea interim boss Rafael Benitez, who has endured a winter of discontent. In addition to fan unrest, this week reports surfaced of a training ground row with the players but the hard facts are that Chelsea could reach the FA Cup last eight tonight, are still in the Europa League and are fourth in the Premier League. No wonder Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray was sympathetic this week. His side have won one game in their last nine league outings."

  131. 1859:

Can Boro pull off an upset tonight then? Has Rafa Benitez taken a risk with that team selection? Just who is Nathan Ake?

  132. 1858:
    LINE-UPS- Middlesbrough v Chelsea (1945 GMT)

Middlesbrough: Steele, Bailey, McManus, Bikey, Friend, Carayol, Leadbitter, Rhys Williams, Haroun, Main, McDonald. Subs: Leutwiler, Zemmama, Emnes, Ledesma, Hines, Miller, Smallwood.

Chelsea: Cech, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Bertrand, Ake, Ramires, Moses, Oscar, Benayoun, Torres. Subs: Turnbull, Cole, Luiz, Lampard, Hazard, Marin, Ba.

    Referee: Martin Atkinson (W Yorkshire)

  133. 1857:
    David Beckham

David Beckham is poised to make his first start in a Paris St-Germain shirt as they take on Marseille in a last-16 Coupe de France clash, while in Germany all-conquering Bayern Munich face champions Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal cup.

If that wasn't enough Euro action for you, it's also the second leg of Sevilla v Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey. The winners face Real Madrid in the final...

  134. 1856:

The ripsnorter at the Riverside is not our only port of call tonight though, not by a long shot.

Cup finalists this season already, Bradford City, are in League Two action as they face a Dagenham & Redbridge side coming to terms with the departure of long-standing boss John Still. The Bantams can still trouble the play-off places if they get a shift on.

And in Europe, we have some tasty games to keep an eye on...

  135. 1854:
BBC Radio 5 liveMiddlesbrough v Chelsea (1945 GMT)

You can tune into BBC Radio 5 live from 1900, where Alan Green and Craig Burley are the men to guide you through the Middlesbrough v Chelsea game.

You can listen to 5 live online now.

  136. 1853:
BREAKING TEAM NEWS- Middlesbrough v Chelsea (1945 GMT)

Chelsea make eight changes from the side beaten at Manchester City at the weekend, with Fernando Torres, Yossi Benayoun, Paulo Ferreira and 18-year-old Dutchman Nathan Ake among the starters.

  137. 1851:

The winners of tonight's FA Cup fifth-round tie face a daunting trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

Chelsea will be favourites to make that trip but Old Trafford is the scene of a classic Middlesbrough cup tie, the 3-3 semi-final draw with Chesterfield in 1997.

Jamie Hewitt's looping header, Chesterfield manager John Duncan's glasses falling off, it had it all that one. A cracker.

  138. 1845:
    Chelsea win 2012 FA Cup

Chelsea like the new Wembley Stadium.

Since the FA Cup final returned to the famous corner of north London, Chelsea have lifted the trophy on four of six occasions.

They may not have Didier Drogba any more, manager Rafael Benitez may be looking more 'interim' by the day, but a win at Middlesbrough tonight will take them a step closer to yet another big day out.

Can Boro stop them in their tracks?
