Blackburn made it three wins on the spin as a messy own goal from Ipswich goalkeeper Stephen Henderson decided a scrappy encounter.

The on-loan West Ham keeper got the final touch after Grant Hanley's effort had been blocked by Luke Chambers.

Ipswich's Aaron Mclean tried his luck from 30 yards as Mick McCarthy's side tried to salvage a point.

But it was Blackburn who came closest to adding to the scoreline when Jordan Rhodes headed wide from six yards out.

In a poor first half, Mclean's close-range header was Ipswich's best chance of breaking the deadlock.

At the other end, Danny Murphy's shot was similarly wide of the mark for Rovers.

New Blackburn striker DJ Campbell came off the bench against the side for whom he scored 10 goals in 17 games earlier this season.

And Rovers were ahead within four minutes of the striker's arrival, when a far-post corner from Murphy prompted a goalmouth scramble, with Henderson getting the last touch en route to the net.

Colin Kazim-Richards went close as Michael Appleton's side turned the screw in the closing stages, with Rhodes again missing the target from six yards in the final minute.
