Jake Wright: Oxford United were 'rubbish' against Fleetwood

Oxford United defender Jake Wright has called his side's performance against Fleetwood Town "rubbish" after they were beaten 3-0 on Saturday.

The result dented their play-off hopes and Wright says they got what they deserved after a poor display.

We can't keep giving away sloppy goals

"We didn't deserve anything out of the game," Wright told BBC Radio Oxford.

"We looked rubbish, we weren't good enough one to 11. No-one played well. The lads who came on did alright but no one who started played well."

The U's, who are now 12th and five points adrift of the play-offs, host Burton Albion on Tuesday.

"We prepared really well for the game and were confident of coming here and getting a result and all three points," added Wright.

"It was very disappointing, they got a freak goal and that set us back a bit. They were better in all areas and we weren't good enough.

"We can't keep giving away sloppy goals and hopefully we've got the sloppy goals out the way ahead of Tuesday.

"We need to make sure today is a one off and we have to make sure we are buzzing for Tuesday."
