Tamworth defeated fellow strugglers Gateshead at the Lamb to move five points clear of danger.

The Tynesiders almost took the lead in the first half, but Josh Gillies' free-kick was turned over by Tony Breeden.

But the hosts eventually went ahead when Danny Lloyd turned home Lloyd Kerry's fine delivery.

And the Lambs wrapped up the three points when Adam Cunnington slotted home from the sport after James Curtis fouled Tommy Wright in the box.

The result leaves Gateshead only two points above the Blue Square Bet Premier drop zone.
