Telford's new interim boss Mark Cooper failed to arrest his club's miserable run as Cambridge made it 17 League games without a win for the hosts.

Andy Pugh gave the visitors an early lead after good work by Michael Gash and Liam Hughes but Jake Reid headed in Gerard Kinsella's cross to equalise.

The game was there to be won for both teams and Gash almost restored Cambridge's lead when he hit the bar.

Gash was not to be denied however as he hit the winner in a goalmouth scramble.
