Mansfield's Jake Speight's season ended by injury

Mansfield Town striker Jake Speight is expected to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The 27-year-old faces surgery on a cartilage tear in the coming days and is set to be out for around 10 weeks.

The Blue Square Bet Premier side have also loaned out Gary Roberts, 25, for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, boss Paul Cox is interested in Fleetwood defender Steve McNulty but has said the Stags will not be re-signing Luke O'Neill from Burnley.

Mansfield's approach to bring the 21-year-old defender to Field Mill was rejected by the Championship club.

Midfielder Roberts has joined Maltese club Floriana and is clear to make his debut against Melita FC on Sunday.
