Ashley Carew ban frustrates Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish

Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish says he is frustrated to lose midfielder Ashley Carew to suspension.

The 27-year-old received a three-match ban after being sent off for a scuffle with Woking's Kevin Betsy following their defeat to the Cards on Sunday.

Daish told BBC Radio Kent: "There is a long way to go yet and a lot of games.

"I need everyone pulling the same way and focused on the job, not doing their own thing or sitting in the stands. They are no use to me there."

Ebbsfleet, who are currently 23rd in the Blue Square Bet Premier table, will now be without Carew for Saturday's home match against Tamworth, as well as the trips to Cambridge and Hyde.

"I am disappointed with Ashley," Daish continued. "After a game when you are 1-0 down you are not going to change anything.

"He just made it worse for himself and for me. I am disappointed with the reaction.

"Maybe there is a bit of frustration in there but you have to be better than that.

"I tried to look on the DVD but all three officials have seen it. I am not going to win that one, whatever happens."
