    A reminder that on 5 live sport, you can hear commentary from QPR v Tottenham (1245GMT) and then Stoke v Chelsea (1500), while on 5 live sport extra there is Championship commentary on Middlesbrough v Watford (1500), followed by Hull v Sheffield Wednesday (1700).

    Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk have beaten off competition from Chelsea and Manchester City to sign Brazilian player Taison, 24, from Metalist Kharkiv, Sport 24 reports.

    Harry Redknapp confirm Marseille striker Loic Remy has rejected the opportunity to join Queens Park Rangers. Remy has been linked with a string of clubs so far in the January transfer window and QPR boss Redknapp was keen to win the chase for the forward.

    "I went over last week to watch him, not that I needed to, as I watched him seven times when I was at Spurs. I couldn't even get a meeting with him," Redknapp says.

    "I think he felt embarrassed coming to see me to say he wasn't interested in coming to QPR. He just felt he was in a position he found difficult to handle."

    The Sporting Director of Italian side Fiorentina has said that Frank Lampard, 34, is "not part of our project," according to TuttoSport.

    Earlier reports had suggested the Italian club were interested in signing the Chelsea midfielder.

    Accrington Stanley are expected to continue talks over a permanent deal for Leeds keeper Paul Rachubka next week, reports the Lancashire Telegraph.

    Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway is confident he will be able to call upon Wilfried Zaha for the rest of the season.

    Manchester United are believed to be interested in the 20-year-old Crystal Palace winger, who was capped by England in November, but Holloway told the South London Press that he expects the academy product to be involved in the Eagles' push for the Premier League.

    Holloway says: "Am I confident he'll be here for Saturday's game? Yeah. I'm very confident he'll be helping me for the rest of the season."

    Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says Luis Suarez is "laden with controversy" ahead of Sunday's meeting with Liverpool.

    Suarez heads to Old Trafford having been criticised for using his hand before scoring the Reds' second goal in their 2-1 FA Cup win at Mansfield.

    "I don't know whether he enjoys [being controversial], but it is something we hope we don't suffer from ourselves," Ferguson said of Suarez, who was banned for eight games in 2011 for racially abusing United defender Patrice Evra.

    QPR coach Harry Redknapp will travel to watch midfielder Yann M'Vila, 22, in person tonight when his Stade Rennais team host Bordeaux.

    An offer from the West London side of £8m has been turned down by the French club, according to L'Equipe.

    Swansea are ready to hijack Liverpool's bid for Thomas Ince with a £7m offer for the Blackpool midfielder, reports the Daily Mail.

    Ince, 20, had been expected to complete a move back to Anfield when the transfer window opened but Brendan Rodgers has been frustrated in his attempts to complete the deal.

    Blackpool rejected an opening offer of £5m and Liverpool are yet to return with an improved bid.

    BBC Wales understands Swansea City are in talks to sign Belgium attacker Roland Lamah from Spanish side Osasuna.

    Lamah, who has made nine Belgian appearances, is contracted at Osasuna until June 2014.

    Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard warns boss Brendan Rodgers against pinning all his faith in youth as he attempts to map out an Anfield revolution.

    Since Rodgers' arrival in the summer the Reds have opted to sign young players with the likes of Joe Allen, Fabio Borini and Daniel Sturridge all yet to celebrate their 24th birthdays.

    "I can understand the policy that everyone wants young, bright, British players - but I don't agree 100% that that should be the only way," says Gerrard.

    West Ham boss Sam Allardyce claims Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside turned down the chance to sign ex-Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o during his time at the club, reports the Metro.

    Allardyce was hired as Bolton manager in 1999 and spent eight years at the Reebok Stadium before spells at Newcastle, Blackburn and now West Ham.

    "We could have got Eto'o for £6.5m from Mallorca," said Allardyce. "But the chairman was too tight to pay at the time, even though I said 'here's a £20m player for you'."

    Chelsea are interested in signing Luka Modric, with owner Roman Abramovich prepared to bid £22m to tempt the Real Madrid player to England this summer, reports the Sun.

    Modric is not enjoying the best of season's under ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho and is still adapting to life in Spain, and with Mourinho tipped to leave at the end of this campaign, Abramovich is ready to make a move.

    West Ham completed a six-month loan deal for striker Wellington Paulista from Brazilian club Cruzeiro last night.

    The Hammers have the option for a further three-year contract. Paulista has scored 75 goals in 160 games for Cruzeiro although some of those were in the state championships against inferior opposition.

    Bradford manager Phil Parkinson, who rejected Blackpool on Friday, adds to his squad with Southampton left back Ryan Dickson.

    The 26-year-old defender will make his debut against Oxford this afternoon after joining on loan for the rest of the season, which also covers the play-offs if needed.

    Sunderland are hoping to wrap up a loan move for Senegal centre-half Kader Mangane this weekend, reports the Shields Gazette.

    The Black Cats have agreed a deal with Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal to take 6ft 5in defender Mangane on loan until the end of the season, and he is expected on Wearside over the weekend to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

    Liverpool end Nuri Sahin's loan, and he will now spend the next 18 months at Borussia Dortmund.

    The 23-year-old joined Liverpool in August from Real Madrid and had been due to play out the season at Anfield.

    However, after 12 appearances and three goals, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has decided to end Sahin's loan deal.

    Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini expects discussions over a possible new contract for striker Carlos Tevez to be held in due course.

    The Argentinian's current deal expires in the summer of 2014 and Mancini feels there is plenty of time to consider what might happen beyond that term.

    Mancini says: "I don't know what Carlos thinks about this. We have another 18 months and I think we have the time to talk with him about this. When Carlos takes his decision, he will talk with us."

    QPR have failed with a £7.3m offer for Rennes' French midfielder Yann M'Vila, 22. The Ligue 1 club are holding out for around £8.3m and M'Vila is keen to move to Loftus Road as long as the deal involves a release clause in the event of Rangers being relegated. (Le Parisien - in French)

    Chelsea are preparing a £22m bid to bring Real Madrid's former Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric, 27, back to England. (the Sun)
