Rangers 4-2 Berwick Rangers

Andy Little scored a hat-trick as Rangers beat Berwick Rangers to move 19 points clear at the top of Scottish Division Three.

The Northern Ireland international fired in after nine minutes and blasted home a second just after the break.

David Templeton converted Francisco Sandaza's cross for Rangers' third but Ross Gray and Fraser McLaren pulled goals back for the visitors.

But Little eased the home crowd's anxiety with his third of the day.

Ally McCoist's side move further clear of nearest challengers Queen's Park, who drew with Peterhead but also have two games in hand.

Little stabbed the ball over the line after Sandaza had forced his way into a congested box as the hosts took control early on.

A volley from the same player stretched Rangers' advantage and Templeton, who had set up the second goal, soon added his name to the scoresheet.

The winger acrobatically connected with Sandaza's whipped cross on 53 minutes.

Gray lashed home with his first touch of the ball after Kevin McDonald had cut the ball back for the substitute.

And the travelling fans began to dream of a remarkable comeback when McLaren powerfully headed Lee Currie's corner past Neil Alexander.

But a cool finish by Little in the 74th minute completed the scoring.
