Jason Walker's 84th-minute equaliser earned York a share of the points at promotion-chasing Cheltenham.

After a lacklustre opening period, Minstermen keeper Michael Ingham was called into action to deny an effort from Shaun Harrad.

Harrad then found the net for the first time since September in the league with a superb curling strike.

However the visitors were not to be denied a point and levelled when Walker steered home Chris Smith's flick-on.

Cheltenham Town Manager Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"It was never going to be the easiest of games and they came to frustrate us. They had pace on the break and we dealt with it well, and we should've won the game.

"Only once when we conceded did we look under any pressure, we had to grind it out and we should have seen it through, but we shouldn't be conceding goals as soft as that.

"I'm happy with most things apart from their goal.

"We had to work into the game and I thought we got better and better.

"This league is tight and it's a case of hanging on in there and picking up points until the last ten games of the season."

York City manager Gary Mills told BBC Radio York:

"I thought my lads were tremendous today.

"It was a great finish from Shaun Harrad to put us a goal behind but I thought our response was immense.

"I thought we were on the front foot as soon as we conceded the goal and again, I've said it many times, if we had gone away from here today without anything it would have been hard on my players.

"I'm delighted for them, delighted for our football club that we've got another big point here at Cheltenham."
