League One's in-form sides cancelled each other out at Griffin Park as Uwe Rosler's Brentford shared a goalless draw with Eddie Howe's Bournemouth.

The Bees, now unbeaten in 12 in the League, and the Cherries, without a defeat in 15, created few chances.

But Brentford were denied an injury-time penalty when striker Clayton Donaldson was bundled over by Bournemouth defender Tommy Elphick.

It sparked touchline fury as Bees boss Rosler argued with the fourth official.

Brentford's on-loan striker Marcello Trotta came closest to breaking the deadlock for the hosts in the first half, forcing Bournemouth keeper David James into a reflex save from his fierce angled drive.

Brentford drop a place from third to fourth, while Bournemouth, still unbeaten since Howe's return, have slipped outside the play-off zone, from fifth to seventh.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe told BBC Radio Solent:

"I'm pleased with the point and more pleased with the performance - especially in the second half I thought we were excellent in a different way to how we have been lately.

"We had great chances in the second half. We're kicking ourselves that we didn't take one of them but I'm so pleased with the lads' attitude and commitment to the cause.

"I thought we did everything but win the game in the end. The lads couldn't have given anymore - that's all you can ask and we keep the unbeaten run going."
