Hyde avenged a home defeat by Southport back in August, thanks to midfielder Adam Griffin's first-half strike.

Griffin, who was sent off in the 2-0 loss to the Sandgrounders four months ago, gave the keeper no chance from Ryan Crowther's short corner.

Godfrey Poku brought a good save from Hyde keeper David Carnell with an ambitious 35-yard effort.

But they lacked a cutting edge in the second half, which saw a lengthy delay for treatment to an assistant referee.
