Paul Tisdale: Exeter City need more home support
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale is urging fans back to St James Park as attendances continue to fall.
A crowd of 6,447 watched Exeter draw 1-1 with Plymouth on Saturday and Tisdale wants more of the same in the future.
Exeter City: Average attendance
- League Two 08/09 - 4,939
- League One 09/10 - 5,832
- League One 10/11 - 5,393
- League One 11/12 - 4,474
- League Two 12/13 - 3,783
"We all enjoy our away support but it's the home support which pays our wages," he told BBC Radio Devon.
"If any wish to follow us on the road then great, but if they get a choice then please come to the home games, we need the money."
When Exeter and Plymouth last met at St James Park in League One in April 2011, the attendance was 7,869.
Saturday's crowd was the highest of the year, but still 2,097 less than the biggest gate the last time the Grecians were in League Two.
Over 8,500 watched them play Morecambe in the last home game of the promotion-winning season.
